Chapter 1
"Have you ever heard of opening a lock with eyes? My heart's lock!!"
"Eww, how bad I write!" Thinking this he tore off another page of his rough book. His dustbin refused to accept it as it was already saturated with a pile of his unrequited love!!
But the memories and the essays of her name were kept in his rough book in an alluring way. Some pages were choked to death due to his romantic poems written only for her!!!
"Leave it, sweetheart, you can’t even talk to her properly, forget writing a love letter" is inner voice mocked him.
He still remembers the day when he first got a glimpse of his heaven when she walked right in front of him to ask about the class as they were classmates.
I have to practise, she is always lost in her music world so it is better to take part in a singing competition to impress her, he decided. It was going to be his first ever stage appearance!!
The day arrived. When his name was called for the competition, sweat covered his body like a blanket. Thanks to his deodorant!!
He tickled the mic to see whether it is working or not. The ocean of eyes was staring at him. He looked downwards and started singing but when he saw a pair of eyes filled with amazement, looking at him, his mind became blank.
Mic refused to convert his silence to sound. His throat became Sahara desert and a short-term ‘remembory’ loss attacked his brain.
The crowd started mocking him. He ran to the backstage controlling the sea of tears.
Suddenly he saw someone coming towards him. It was her. His increased rate of heartbeats seems to break his rib cage.
“Hey, don’t be sad. It was your first attempt, right? It will be alright”, her tender voice provided a soothing effect on his wounds.
I…I…I…tha..than…thank…youu….
“Haha, your English sir will be proud of you”, she laughed. “See you later.”
He stood there like a statue for some time until a notification from her peeped into his phone.
“Instead of giving me the notebook of maths, you gave me your rough book, silent Romeo!!”
