Chapter 1

[SCENE 1]

It’s late at night and Kimberley is just coming out of the shower, when she receives a knock on the door, not knowing who it could be Kimberley slowly walks out of Her room, towards the front door.

(Kimberley)

“Who is it?” (Kimberley says with Her ear up against the door)

She waits for a few seconds before turning around and heading back to Her room. Suddenly there’s another knock on the door this time with more force, causing Kimberley to jump a little in fear. Kimberley quickly walks out of Her room, into the kitchen, she grabs a knife and walks back towards the front door.

(Kimberley)

“Who is it?” (Kimberley says again with Her hands on the doorknob)

Kimberley waits for 3 seconds, and quickly opens the door to see nobody there, she shakes Her head as if she was disappointed but, before she heads back inside, Her best friend Ava jumps from around the corner with a mask on scaring Kimberley so bad, she screams and falls backwards. Ava begins laughing, taking off the mask.

(Kimberley)

“Ava that’s not funny.” (Kimberley says in an angry voice)

(Ava)

“You’re right, it’s hilarious, now get up off the floor.”

Ava walks into Kimberley’s home closing the door behind Her, She then grabs Kimberley’s hand, and pulls Her up off the floor.

(Kimberley)

“You really need to stop that, it’s not good.”

Kimberley walks towards the kitchen and places the knife on the counter.

(Ava)

“Is that a knife?”

(Kimberley)

“Yes it’s a knife don’t act like you didn’t see it.”

(Ava)

“I really didn’t, and you know what’s crazy?”

(Kimberley)

“What’s crazy?”

(Ava)

“You had a knife and was still terrified.” (Ava laughs again)

(Kimberley)

“Ha ha ha, laugh it up.”

(Ava)

“Okay I’m sorry.” (Ava says in a sarcastic voice)

(Kimberley)

“Why you’re here anyway?”

(Ava)

“Just wanted to hang out with my best girl.” (Ava says poking Kimberley in the stomach playfully)

(Kimberley)

“Ava.” (Kimberley says with a straight face)

(Ava)

“What?”

(Kimberley)

“Tell me the truth.”

(Ava)

“Okay, I will, how about, me and you, take a trip to the bar tonight.”

(Kimberley)

“Take a trip to the bar, Ava I’m tired.” (Kimberley says with a confused look on Her face)

(Ava)

“Please Kimberley we haven’t hung out in so long, you look great you don’t need to find anything to put on.”

(Kimberley)

“Ava I’m tired.” (Kimberley says with a dull look on Her face)

Ava stares at Kimberley for a few seconds, then looks around.

(Ava)

“There’s someone else isn’t it?”

(Kimberley)

“No! there’s nobody else, what are you talking about?”

(Ava)

“You know what, don’t even worry about it, I’m sorry for asking.”

Ava turns around, and walks out the door, Kimberley quickly rushes behind Ava.

(Kimberley)

“Ava please, Ava!”

Ava quickly turns around.

(Ava)

“Every time you asked me to do something for you I did it, no matter how I felt I did it, why can’t you do the same for me?”

(Kimberley)

“I will do anything for you, it’s just.....

(Ava)

“It’s just what?”

(Kimberley)

“So much has been going on and I just need some time to think.”

Suddenly, Ava’s phone begins ringing, she looks down at it to see Kimberley’s name.

(Ava)

“Why is you calling me?” (Ava says raising Her phone up to Kimberley)

(Kimberley)

“I don’t even have my phone.” (Kimberley says looking confused)

(Ava)

“How you don’t have your phone, where is it?”

(Kimberley)

“It’s in my room?”

Kimberley looks back to see Her front door wide open. She quickly grabs the phone out of Ava’s hand, and answers it.

(Kimberley)

“Hello.”

Kimberley and Ava hears what sounds like a psychotic laugh of a man coming from the other end of the phone, before she can say anything it hangs up. Kimberley runs inside Her home, into Her room to see Her phone lying on the dresser. Without warning she receives a text message saying “you should have stayed outside.” All of a suddenly Kimberley hears the blood curdling scream of Her best friend Ava. Kimberley turns around with a terrified look on Her face.
