The Nations and their Secrets

Summary

Each and every nation lives their own lives, has their own secrets. Some wear a mask over their face to hide their secrets, others show their secrets in plain sight when they’re alone. The ancients decided that their children have been suffering for too long and have taken action. The solution? Multiple diary entries from multiple countries, all put together in one large book. Some country’s masks will be peeled off, and some will have to climb out of the darkness in their hearts. Question is, who will it be?

A Shining Light

DISCLAIMER! I don't own Hetalia! Hetalia belongs to Hidekaz Himayura, the best person in the world (for making Hetalia possible)! Now, ONTO THE STORY!

Sigh… Arthur and France are fighting again.Canada looked up at the two nations that he once had considered parents. He went unnoticed for most of the meeting, as usual, and sat at his seat quietly watching the events unfold.

Then, something out of the usual happened. It seemed like everybody stopped in time… silence. A bright white light shone in the middle of the meeting room (causing all of the nations to shut their eyes tight) and once the light faded, a large book was in its place.

“What the bloody hell was that?!?!?” England exclaimed, instantly forgetting about the previous argument and focusing on the book instead. He walked up to the table and snatched the book, a single note falling out of its pages. “A note…?”

France, following England, picked the note up from the floor and read it out loud.

So many of our children have suffered and we do not wish to see them in this state anymore. In this book is a compilation of diary entries from the nations here today, which are to be read our loud by all of you.

From: The Ancients

P.S: None of you may leave this building until everything is read.

“WHAT?!?!” The whole room erupted with loud protests coming from every nation (save Russia).

“I don’t have time for this! Why can’t we just leave?!?” China practically screamed. The room was in total chaos, until a booming voice rang through the air.

“We did this for your own well beings!” The nations turned towards the middle of the room to see a visible Ancient Rome standing on top of the table.

“G-g-grandpa Rome?!?” Italy exclaimed, lunging forwards to Ancient Rome only to have his hand pass right through him. “Wha- why can’t I touch you?”

“We don’t have any corporeal bodies, love.” This time, it was England who reacted to the voice.

“Mother!” England stood up to face her mother, Brittania, soaking in her every feature. “What… do you mean?”

“Our time here is limited. We were only allowed to visit in the spirit plane, not in reality,” she replied. “This is going to be the last time we see each other.” As Brittania said those last words, everybody could see a layer of tears form over England’s eyes, making them glassy.

Another body appeared next to the already present figures, bearing tan skin and long dark hair. “I am so sorry that I couldn’t stay a while longer, my children. I only wish to hold you in my arms once more,” she said in a soft yet wise voice.

“Mother… it’s okay,” Canada said, louder than usual.

“Yeah, Mattie’s right. Mother, we’re just glad to see you,” America added on, tears of his own forming.

The three nations turned to each other and nodded, saying “We can’t stand seeing all of you suffer. That is why we did this, please understand.”

All of the nations present silently nodded their heads, signaling to the three ancients that they understood what was being done.

“Good.”

Brittania turned to Ancient Rome and Native America, saying “I think that our time here is up.”

Ancient Rome spoke, saying “Indeed it is.” He chuckled, saying his final farewells to Italy, who broke into tears at the fact that this is the last time he’ll see his Grandpa Rome again. “I’ll always be with you, Feliciano,” he said, fading out of existence.

“As will I,” Native America said to her two sons, America and Canada. Their eyes were glassy, a few tears escaping from both pairs of eyes as she faded in front of their eyes.

“Mother,” England spoke up. “Are you… going to fade too?”

Brittania gave a warm smile and said, “Yes, I am. Do not worry, love. I will always be here,” pointing to his chest. She slowly faded away as well, leaving behind a tearful Englishman.

After a while of shedding tears, Japan pointed towards the book. “So… since we can’t exactly leave the building, shall we begin reading?”

Germany, clearing his throat, said “Ah, yes, let us begin then. So, who would like to read first?”

A single hand was raised at the other end of the room. “If nobody else will read, then I will, aru!”

Germany passed the book to China, saying “Alright, then you shall start us off.” The sound of the book being opened rang through the air as the book was opened to the first entry.

A fresh new start and another story! I've decided to write another fanfic to work on if I get a block for the other. I know that this idea has already been written, but I didn't find too many interesting and complete ones. Please review the story, that would be a great help! Some suggestions for different entries that you want to include would also be greatly appreciated as well!
