The parents
Sophia’s mother had a rough childhood and a teenage years. When her mother was growing up she had to watch her mother get abused physically, mentally, and verbally by her own father. She had to see her father take a gun to her mother and sister. Once Sophia’s mother grew up it got worse. She had her first kiss in a closet in SK, had sex for the first time at the age of 11, got pregnant at the age of 13 and had 5 other miscarriages, engaged about 3 times, broke the law a bunch of times, she was ditching schools just to go to parties or have sex with guys, crashing parties, drinking, smoking, doing drugs, and eventually she dropped out in grade 10 because she had trouble reading and writing. Sophia’s mother was 21 when she had Sophia. Sophia’s mother Alice started dating Sophia’s step-father Frederick when Sophia was 2 years old. Frederick had a rough life growing up too. His father divorced his mother, had 2 sisters where his mother was going give up one of the sisters but told his mother to keep the sister for the money, he became an alcoholic in high school, was kicked out or moved out from his mother at the age of 16, saw a dead baby, and he dropped out of college once he met Sophia's mother because he found it hard working full time and going to school while providing for a family that he didn't want. Something else about Sophia's parents is the fact that they were really strict, protective, and sometimes treated the kids differently from one an another.
