Ch 1: Only the Beginning
School the most treacherous place in the world. Well at least for me, Kahlen Pfadel. I mean I like the aspect of school. I love the idea of having classes with my best friends. Its just well when your like me and have limited people you can make friends with it is kinda of hard to have fun. I mean if my older brother wasn’t such a douche and let me make my own choses maybe I would actually enjoy school a little bit better. We all know that it doesn't work out that way.
Right now it is 1:00 in the after noon, on a Friday, it is my last period of the day math, but lets be honest am I really paying attention to my teacher Miss Matthews, not really. I just can’t wait to get out of here get to the car and go home. Its my turn to drive home today I am so stoked. My brother Hudson told me he couldn’t be bothered today so I get to drive home. I know what your thinking why would I be so excited to drive home. Well their are two reasons for this. The first reason being that I just got my license. The second being that my brother owns a 2017 GT black matte mustang. Let me tell you that is one sexy car. I could go on and on with the deets but the bell rang.
I got up from my seat and sprinted to my brothers car to find him making out with some chick on the hood of the car. As I got closer I notice it was none other then Mandi Hale. You know how every school has that one conniving self centered bitch, that's Mandi for you.
She always has her dirty hands all over my brother and his friends its kind of disgusting. I don't want to see her and her minions getting it up with my brother and the people that are like brothers to me. If you know what I mean.
As I proceeded to the car I couldn't help but think this could go two ways. The very easy way where I just get the keys from my brother and he says his very long good bye and we leave, or the other way where I get in a fight with my brother and Mandi on leaving. I am pretty sure it is going to be the later one. but a girl can dream am I right.
Which by the way I am right.
When I get to the car I clear my throat trying to get Hudson's attention but I end up failing. So I wait their and try again. That is in-till I got annoyed and rip my brother away from Mandi.
Let me tell you that was a very bad decision. Cause...
Thats when all hell broke lose.
"What the f*** was that Kahlen can't you see that I am busy" he said with anger laced in his voice. I could tell that I was going to regret doing that later based of the way he had crossed his arms over his chest giving me the sibling look of back off before I murder you.
I gave him a very annoyed look back and simply said " If you would just give me the keys so I could go home we wouldn't be in this situation now would we as a gave a nasty glare to Mandi.
He looks at me annoyed trying to decide if he should give me the keys to his precious baby or not. But when he does give in, he tosses me the keys. I get into the car waiting for him but he doesn't come. So I left him knowing all to well he would be home in a hour with Mandi right behind him.
When I get out of the parking lot, I open the sun roof causing my light brown hair to blow in the wind. I take a breath of the salty California air, before heading to my house.
As I pulled into the circle drive in front of my house I notice a car that wasn't suppose to be their. It was a white Jeep Wrangler with black rims and on the hood their was a black bow. Man was I drooling over that car. That was my dream car. I wonder what it was doing at my house and who it belonged to. When I got out of the car my four year old sister comes running out to greet me.
Kahle!!!!!!!! (cali) happy berfhday she says with a big smile on her face. I pick her up and bring her back into the house. I place her on her feet and she runs further in with me following in tow.
I look to my right into the family room and see gold balloons that where shaped into a one and a six and purple and blue confetti all over the shelves. When I look to my left I see a three tier cake on the kitchen counter. It had a white background with gold luster dust and blue and purple dots spread into cloud like flowers. While I was admiring my birthday cake my mom comes in adding more decorations to the family room.
"Hey sweetie, welcome home. I hope you like the decorations so far for your party. I know your big on the perfect picture background so I thought the family room would be the perfect place to set up the mini photo shoot studio that you wanted. I also put more of the number one and six gold balloons in your room along with the confetti incase you and Rachel wanted to take pictures in your room. Your father is setting up the lights outside. He is stringing them on the deck, around the pool and on the gazebo" she said with excitement.
My mom is the type of mom who wants everything to be perfect for any occasion. She just wants every one to be happy. That's what I love about her she is so caring and generous. I couldn't of asked for a better mom or a better party planner.
"Thank you so much mom for everything" I say giving her a hug before heading out back to check on my dad.
When I opened the porch door my dad was already changing the lantern colors above the pool, to fit the color scheme of my party. Which incase you haven't figured it out yet is blue, purple, and gold. I just love that color combination. When I closed the porch door my dad turned around.
" Hey Princess, I was just finishing up the lights and stuff. How was your day at school?"
" It was fine I guess. It kind of went by really slow."
" Oh well thats good sweetie I am going to go head inside, you coming."
I nod my head and follow him in.
