My body shivering as I stuck my head out of the cold water. I gasped for air and crawled to the shore with a rose in my hand. The thorns poking into my cold skin. I coughed and held my stomach as I stood up to walk.

Near by, a small convenience store was down the road. With my legs numb, I wobbled my way into the store. My hair dripping wet and black clothes were frozen on me. The girl who stood behind the cash register was startled when she saw me and immediately reached for the phone.

“Sir, are you okay?” She covered her mouth and stood there like an idiot, not knowing what to do. My heavy eyelids slowly closed and I had felt my body falling towards the hard floor.

_

“How is that possible? It’s winter. The flower shouldn’t even be alive and he could not have survived in that cold water. Where did he even come from?”

“Who cares? He’s alive and we saved him. Besides, don’t you think he’s too good looking to even suffer like this?”

“I think he’s awake. Go get the nurse or doctor, whoever is available.”

I slowly opened my eyes and felt my dry throat itch. My body was sore and head pounded like crazy. The way the shades were open and light shining into the room was nuts. I hated the brightness.

“Are you okay? I mean- that was a stupid question. You’re obviously not, but do you need anything?” The girl poured a glass of water for me.

I chugged the water and handed it back then wiped my mouth with my long sleeve I had on. Without answering, I lifted up the blanket and stood up from bed.

“SIR, WHAT THE FUC– LAY BACK DOWN,” the girl grabbed my forearm. I shook it off and grunted as I walked towards the door.

The doctor showed up in front of me and furrowed his eyebrows when we made eye contact.

He looked at me from head to toe and shook his head. “It’s only been a few hours. You can’t heal that quickly.”

“Well I did,” I pushed him out of my way and casually walked out of the hospital. I walked around the streets and looked up at the tall buildings.

People stared at me and gasped when they saw me in my hospital clothes. I sighed and quickly walked inside a clothing store.

I picked a few clothes and changed into them in the fitting room. While I was putting on the new clothes, I realized that my right hand was bandaged.

After I changed, I left my other clothes and walked out of the store. The alarm went on and startled others as I sneaked into the crowd of people.

I stuffed my hands inside my pocket and followed the directions to an isolated area away from the city.

My legs carried me to the train tracks and walked down the road. The sound of rocks that I stepped on and wind blowing my hair away from my eyes.

I looked up at an old building and walked up the stairs then onto the rooftop. When I did, I saw a mattress and without hesitation, my body fell on it backwards.

I squinted my eyes at the sky and brought my right hand to block the sun.

Theres only one thing I know.

My name.
