So Bad It's Good
"On first reading. this is what I thought-that you were a recovering alcoholic and had remembered your experiences of too much cider and your obsession with Harry's Bar. Then I looked up the contest and dredged my memory of Hemingway. I once read a book about him from the persecutive of his first wife. He was such an unreconstructed 20th century man. And that is exactly what you have conveyed! That whole, rough, devil may care, woman hating, self destructing machismo. There are some phrases I really enjoyed like the one about you having to sneeze her out of your nose, the whole chaos of the thought and the hints at explanation. It's clever."

"This story was inspired by the 'Bad Hemingway' online writing competition, a funky little contest that no longer exists, although some excellent pieces are still floating around in cyberspace. Worth a Google. My story is not a particularly good example of bad Hemingway - I just ran in my own direction with it. Still pretty bad. Enjoy :)"
