Chapter 1

In faraway Mexico, in the city of Banja California, there lived a rich couple. The name of the Man was Marcus Peterson while the woman’s name was Katrina.

Marcus and Katrina were a match made in heaven. One could easily tell that both of them were better suited to marry one another.

However, something was still missing. They had no child to seal their happiness. The couple had been married for 3 years without the fruit of the womb.

Both of them had gone for a medical check-up to know what was wrong with them, but each time the doctor would tell them they were perfectly okay and healthy.

What could be the problem?

Well, the couple had to resort to prayers, believing God for a miracle. Marcus loved Katrina so much that he would never say anything ill to her. Instead, he would always tell her to be courageous like Hannah in the Bible.

Katrina, on the other hand, was always down in the dumps. She needed a child so badly. Even when her husband suggested that they should adopt a child, she kicked against it-she wanted a child from her womb.

One fateful day, Katrina was in her office, lost in deep thoughts. Amanda, her favorite employee and friend, came to show her some papers she needed to sign, but found her in a quiet mode of abject solitude while tears rolled down her cheek.

Amanda was surprised to see her in this situation. She wanted to find out what was the problem.

Katrina who was lost in her thoughts didn’t notice Amanda calling her until she tapped her. Katrina, then realized that she had been away from this world.

Amanda felt so sorry for her and wanted to know what could be wrong. Her boss, on the other hand, wanted to conceal the whole thing, but after much pressure from Amanda, she eventually released her bottled worries.

Katrina told her that she was depressed because she had not been able to bear a child. She doesn’t even know how it feels to be a mother. It’s been 3 years now, and she’s still yet to be blessed with the fruit of the womb.

“Ma, is that why you have been depressed? You know that’s not the right thing to do because we all know that God has his own plan and timing of everything that happens. That is why you should lean on him, and learn to trust him.” Amanda advised.

“He alone owns your tomorrow and has the power to change your situation for good. You just have to trust in him.” She added.

She tried to encourage Katrina, reminding her that there’s nothing God can’t do!

She also told her that some couples have been waiting for the fruit of the womb for almost a decade and yet they’ve not given up on God.

She should be happy and have faith in God that hers has not gotten to that stage, and also believing God for a miracle.

Wow! Katrina felt relieved by her counsel. It was what she needed at that moment. She had really worked herself out because of this problem. Amanda’s advice came at the right time. She thanked Amanda, who later handed over the papers for her to sign and then went back to what she was doing.

On getting home that evening, Marcus was in the kitchen preparing dinner. And she later joined him. Marcus noticed something different about her. She was cheerful, lively and at the same time vibrant.

Of course, this was unusual. Katrina was always beside herself with grief and sadness.

But this time around, she was with her husband, doing some of the dishes in the kitchen.

She was filled with joy and even expressed it by opening her mouth to the wind and sang a song to show how happy she was.

Marcus asked in anxiety, wanting to know what was going on; “sweetheart” Marcus called, “you look great and cheerful, what’s going on?” He asked.

“Well, let’s just say I’m happy. I just have this inner joy running like a river inside of me. I believe that God is going to answer our prayers” Katrina added.

Marcus was like “wow you mean God has finally answered our prayers?”

“I believe he’ll soon answer it” Katrina replied.

Katrina had this inexplicable joy and could not explain where it came from. She just found herself praising and believing God for a miracle. She had got to understand that God’s time is the best.

So the couple ended up preparing dinner together. Of course, as a sign that she was happy, Katrina decided to reward her husband with a sumptuous meal that evening. The meal was even strong enough to put Marcus in an active mode while having a good time with his wife that very night in their bedroom.
