Chapter 1
Tell me; what is Hope?
A child’s laughter filled with joy?
A Mother’s dreams of the future?
A Father’s strong hands that guide and guard?
Or perhaps even a rainy day,
that hides the tears that fall,
as memory holds your hand tight and tells you;
‘You are strong and you Can carry on’
Tell me; what is Faith?
Trust in an unknowable Divine?
Trust in an unforseeable Future?
Trust in an unquestionable path or truth?
Or perhaps it is found instead,
in the Blood of the Covanent.
In those you choose to comfort and in turn,
those who are willing to comfort you?
Tell me too; what is Loyalty?
Blind obedience to the rules?
Parroting that which you have been told?
Acquiescence to unjust decree and legislation?
Or perhaps is it standing up,
or even bending knee.
To bring attention to the fore of all minds and say;
‘This isn’t right, this isn’t Us, and we will stand by no more!’
