"From the start the easy elegance of the language leads one on through the increasingly engrossing story/mystery. An unusual mix of feelings comes up: easy smiles at the clever turn of a phrase while feeling a sense of dread and recognition. Thought I knew where we were headed but had me fooled. Have to wait to find out."

"Bob Knox keeps the momentum and the mystery going as Keel follows psychic signals to a bunker hidden deep in the countryside. Characters appear which seem to know or know of Keel, and he seems to adapt to every situation which expressing his own self doubt. Well written - the plot maintains coherence and propels the reader along."

"In a few short paragraphs I am completely engrossed in this story. My heart beats faster as Keel reacts to the events in his community. I want Keel to take action and not be just an observer. Yet I also want Keel to remain unharmed.by these changes in society. I look forward to reading the next chapters."

"Knox writes with chilling detail about threatening dogs and political rallies with devoted followers who show their nails and teeth. There are dreams of rough men on the move, and visions that may or may not be real. The entire story, like the dreams of the protagonist, is much like our own political reality, but just a little off. There is a growing sense of mystery and dread. There is also hope in a growing band of resisters, and an old woman formerly known as a witch. The climax is riveting and the ending is very satisfying."
