Summary

What is Gaslighting? It is thinking and sometimes behaving like you are actually MAD!. It is brought on by the power of suggestion and behavior of others to inflict shocking pain on their victim. My first poem in this book took many years to write. There was a time when my mind would not allow me to concentrate long enough to write anything, not even a list to take to the Supermarket. The cruelty in my life was severe and prolonged. Taunts about my mental state and harsh criticisms often left me feeling like a blubbering mess. Reluctant Umbrella seeks to change all that. It is a collection of poems requiring little explanation other than to say, Gaslighting is one of the most shocking things to do to another human being.
