Not your usual fantasy fare

"Let me begin by stating that I've only read seven chapters of the story, but I believe this is enough to provide a general review. This is not your usual fantasy. This is a rather unique blend of Adventurer Archaeologist and Frank Peretti style Christian Fantasy, especially his early works (Piercing the Darkness comes to mind). The good: The narrative is interesting and engaging. I like how the author presents the author's narration as a series of flashbacks. The bad: I thought the very beginning was a little slow. The Neutral: The style of the story is not everyone's cup of tea. One of the genres used, Adventurer Archaeologist, is not widely used anymore and Christian Fantasy is a niche style that isn't very popular either. Combine them both and you get a story that many people may not want to pick up. It's plot driven, with plenty of action and suspense, so don't expect a lot of internal monologues or intense character development. Edit: After reading a little further, I've decided to rescind my positive review. The story isn't bad, but it has too many negative elements that put me off. The addition of the furry was a bad idea and although I'm not too much of a stickler about this sort of thing, there is too much violence against women. It is unnecessary and superfluous. It's like the only reason women are in the story is to be victims or to serve tea. I don't know. I stopped reading after chapter 14. It's a shame because I really liked the beginning and I thought the concept was original."
