Lee Seoyeon believes her parents are cruel for naming her with a very common name. There’s Lee Seoyeon who won Miss Korea 1998. The Lee Seoyeon from Busan who was a popular tv actress. Lee Seoyeon who got married to the heir of the largest department store in Seoul. Lee Seoyeon who was a swimmer and won gold in the 2001 Olympics. Lee Seoyeon in the Judiciary who was well known for her unwavering impartiality back in 2004.
Worse comes worse when another Lee Seoyeon enters the same high school as her. Things go downhill from there because the transferee Lee Seoyeon is beautiful, smart and kind. She is everything that ‘just’ Lee Seoyeon isn’t. And she hates this fact with a passion. That she is reduced to nothing because of ‘pretty’ Lee Seoyeon.
She never had the chance to have a decent talk with ‘pretty’ Lee Seoyeon throughout high school, except when they happen to come across each other at ‘just’ Lee Seoyeon’s favorite cafe. Pretty Lee Seoyeon came with her boyfriend Oh Sehun and that was probably the first and last time she ever talked to the girl she begged never to be compared with ever again. Or so she thought.
It seems, however, fate has its way of playing its chess pieces, and ‘just’ Lee Seoyeon meets Oh Sehun again in college for the second time. She never spoke to him nor did he ever remember her being the ‘just’ Lee Seoyeon that his pretty girlfriend introduced to him once. That was that for the next four years.
Until, by some inexplicable reason, the two of them unexpectedly meet three years later after college--for the third time. Lee Seoyeon remembers Oh Sehun well as the dashing boyfriend of the girl she forever envies while Oh Sehun doesn’t even have the slightest clue who she is or that they have even met before then.
Lee Seoyeon thinks these coincidental meetings with Oh Sehun are bad omens to watch out for, because who knows if the ‘pretty’ Lee Seoyeon suddenly pops out of nowhere to take over her place once more? Life can only screw you over when you least expect it, so Lee Seoyeon does her best to distance herself from the bad omen.
But what if destiny says otherwise and has a different plan than to screw her over?
