"A different type of pirate girl story, I really like it! It's well written. I love that she is so open about what she wants, and that her friends always know even more so and support her through everything. Some plot holes I don't understand *spoiler*: How can her mother, being raped and beaten every day, have an affair with another man at the same time? Why don't the pirates just kill Blade? (poison, mutiny, stab him in his sleep, whatever?). Chester's plan seems a bit far-fetched, and I don't quite understand why they all retired to the island in the end. (no more being on the sea, but also far away from their families). But overall I really loved it! "

"I enjoy a story when strong characters have a flaw/weakness/vulnerability and how they overcome that. There were some plot twists which added to the story and character development. I didn’t see many of the usual tropes/cliches which you would find in a romance novel. Descriptive narrative for the setting, fashion, time period, action & steamy scenes 🔥 was a plus too. I couldn’t put the book down. I will add this to my re-read list! 😊"
