"That opening line about Zeke wanting to think of himself as a good man sets up exactly the kind of morally gray western hero I love reading. Tying his path to General Orders No. 9 and the surrender at Appomattox grounds the whole premise in real history before the missing daughter case even kicks off. Great start."
