Chapter 1
"Emergency, we need Dr.Blake here to ER101, repeat we need Dr. Blake here to ER101, code-red".
MAY's POV:
I was eating this flapjack(cereal bar) when I heard an emergency, I ruffled through my hair to keep me awake.I put my bar in my coat's pocket and took long steps as if I was possessed by an ostrich and ran towards ER101. I saw Lay,an intern I was in-charge of running with a file of the case towards me. We waited for the lift but since it took too long to come to our floor, I signed him to follow me and take the staircase. As Lay reached my side, he started discussing about the emergency.
"Name- Stacey Karl. Age - 36, Pregnancy -third , blood pressure - dropping, prebirth and no of weeks of pregnancy -32...."
Hearing him complete I skipped stairs to climb as fast as I can while hearing Lay cussing "she's too fast" and he was completely out of his breathe.
I reached the 7th floor ,entered the back room of ER and scrubbed some alcohol and when I opened the door for the ER, I saw Emie, one of my trio sweating pearls on her forehead. She helped me with the gown an cap and when I went near the operating table I was somewhat nervous.
But he calmed me down..
"I know you can do this, May, I believe in you"
I heard Dr. Blake has done another miracle with setting a new record of time, handling a worst case perfectly. They said that her fingers moved as smoothly as though she was playing her notes on a piano. She is truly such a great child.
MAY's POV:
I was cheered with an applause from the nursing department and felt calm as I couldn't believe I was able to do it and maybe it is because of him.(the voice in her head) Thank you.
Walking ahead, Emie, was doing her check duty when I decided to prank her. I took heavy steps without making any noise, I tapped on the opposite side of the shoulder from where I was standing so when she turns to the side where someone's tapped her, she would see no one and when she turns back,I can boo her.
I did tap her the same way and everything went according to my plan and then when she looked no one to her right shoulder, I murmured in her right ear"I'm here, Emie"
As she heard me, she jumped in her spot and waved her hands in air. "Oh God! You scared me, what the hell?"
I laughed silently making sure the patients are not disturbed and then a lady who saw us playing laughed out loud,with the hahaha's echoing in the hall.
Everyone looked at us and at her. My lord,I hate too many glances since I am an introvert. Emie, calmed everyone down and asked me if I was alright.
"Yeah, I'm fine. By the way, I'm going to Jad's place, when are off your call?"
"I'm nearly done, wait for me in the main hall, will be with you in a ten or so", she replied.
I took a seat and searched for my mobile in my cost's pocket managing to drop the flapjack. I reprimanded myself for being so clumsy. I opened mytube to listen to some music when the notification bulb had a mark on it. I clicked on it only to see that Eden has dropped his new M/V after a year and seeing it made me cry.
"He made a comeback!!"
