Chapter 1

Jess’ POV

The man whimpered softly as I slowly slid the knife across his cheek. “please, I’m begging you.” he pleaded staring at me through swollen eyes. I tilted my head as I followed the blood running down his cheeks with my eyes, “why should I?” my voice purred in response to his shaking form. Tears rolled down his cheek mixing with blood as I raised the knife to his throat, his breath hitched in his throat when I applied pressure. “where’s Donovan?” his eyes widened when the knife came in his view, so close that if he blinked it would pierce his eyelid. “I- told you, I don’t k-know where he is. He just disappeared.” I sighed in boredom as I already knew he didn’t know anything I wanted to hear him beg and plead but with his annoying voice it was hardly as pleasing when he began to scream like a banshee.

“Ma’am your father’s on the phone.” I rolled my eyes as I grab the phone from the guard. “what does he want?” I asked walking to the door, “he didn’t say ma’am.” placing the phone at my ears “papa, how are you?” I spoke in a cheery voice however my face was stoic, "jess, my child where are you?" he spoke with a worried tone of voice "I'm at a friend's, what's wrong papa?" this however had me seriously worried because my father sounded worried which is very unlike him. "I'm sending Xavier to pick you up now." he rushed out before hanging up. I took the phone from my ears, stared at it then sighed. "untie him and get him to a hospital, tell them you found him that way then meet me at my home." I commanded while walking away. A faint yes ma'am was heard as I trotted up the stairs, walking into the bathroom I stripped my clothes and got into the shower. Turning on the shower, cold water sprayed my body washing away the blood and sweat on my bod down the drain. I lathered up my skin, making sure to wash all the blood away before getting out, "Ma'am there's a Mr. Xavier here." came a voice through the door. "I'll be right down." I dried my body and pulled on the extra clothes I had stashed. pulling on the black skinny jeans I paired it was a white muscle t and my blood splattered white tims. Walking out the bathroom I saw Xavier standing by the door waiting patiently with my black leather jacket.

Grabbing it from him he chuckled as I pushed him from the door and walked out towards the parked SUV. Getting in the backseat I watched as the others piled in the other jeeps and pulled out. "at a friend's huh." Xavier mused when he sat in the passenger's seat ignoring him I nodded my head for the man to start driving. After he pulled off I rested my head against the glass and closed my eyes, thinking where the hell that fucking bastard Donovan was. The bastard owed me money and he just up and disappeared. I growled in annoyance as the car pulled to a stop half hour later, I got up and walked up to the grand stairs of my father's mansion, opening the door a maid greeted me leading me towards the living room. "good day Madam your father requested that you come to the living area as soon as you arrive." walking into the spacious space I glanced around to see men in suits all stationed around the room. there were some sitting in couches who seemed to be of higher status than those standing around.

"jess darling come sit." at the announcing of my presence the men's head all snapped towards me and stared. I walked towards my father and sat beside him. "now that you're here we can get down to business. you'll be staying with the Sanguis' for a while until some conflicts roll off." nodding my head I looked at the men sitting in front of us. There were three in total, "there names are Carter, Sebastian and Sam Sanguis respectively." starting from the right the first looked to be in his late forties early fifties with black pepper and salt hair and a crow feet at his eye, despite this he looked handsome for his age. following him was a split images of the first man, he however looked to be in his late twenties earl thirties with a light stubble hugging his chiseled cheek with a sharp jawline. thick shaped back brows pulled in a grimace as his tousled hair dipped into his obsidian like eyes. the last one seem to be about my age, in his twenties he was the watered down version of the two but still handsome. His bright blue eyes framed by curly brown hair brushed his high cheek bones and sharp jaw line. these men are definitely handsome and with the way they carried each other I bet they knew and is very proud, arrogant bastards.
