Crunch Bars
Dear Juliette,
I just learned how to write letters today in school, which is pretty cool, so I thought I would write you a letter. You are always so nice and smart and pretty and you smell like sunshine so I think you are a good person to write letters to.
A couple of days ago was Halloween. I dressed up as a fairy because of the song Thumbelina and because I really like that song. Raffi says in his song about Thumbelina that it makes no difference if you're very small which is good because I am very small.
My dad and Mary and I went all the way around the neighborhood down to Baker Lane, which is almost four blocks away from us. Mary dressed up as a monkey because she really likes Curious George and her costume was so big that you could barely see her face! Daddy didn't dress up because he said that adults don't dress up for Halloween unless they're in college, but I don't really know what that means.
I hope you had a good Halloween and that you got to eat lots of candy. Oh, I forgot! I went to this one house that had two doors at the front and they gave me a king-sized Crunch bar. Mom said that I could only eat half of it because she's an adult and adults tell kids what to do, but even that was so much chocolate that I think I got a tummy ache. Have you ever had a Crunch bar? They have chocolate and this crunchy stuff that makes them really fun to eat because your mouth makes this cool sound. Mom thinks it's 'obnoxious' when I eat them but I don't even know what that word means so she can say it all she wants.
Please write me back and tell me all about Edwin and Pennsylvania and your class. They're just little kindergartners, which is kind of funny because I was a kindergartner 2 years ago but now I am a cool second grader to them. And I hope that you and Edwin have babies soon so that I can be their cool cousin and teach them lots of things like how to whistle and how to paint their nails.
Well, I should get going because I am going to go to sleep and get up and eat more of my Crunch bar. But I love you and I hope that I can visit you and Edwin sometime really soon.
Love,
Olia
