Euphoria

The colorless liquid streamed down the windows of the train, she sighed softly, feeling as down as the weather. She reached up and her slender long fingers wrapped tightly around the cool metal bar that ran through out the train. She titled her head to the side slightly and felt people watching her every move, thinking in their minds that she couldn’t see them.

But she did.

They only looked at her because of how “strikingly beautiful” she was, whatever. Not a day in her life did she think that she was beautiful. And she wanted to tell them that she was ugly and not worth looking at. And maybe then, they’d see what she saw.

She licked her lips as the train came to a stop, people filtered in and out, but she stayed. New people sat down in, doing the exact same thing as the ones who were there before them. Stare. Keeping her head down, she put in an earbud, blasting music in her ears and silencing some of the noise as someone stood behind her.

She lifted a brow and felt tempted to turn around and see who exactly had the audacity to stand so painfully close to a person. But she instead ignored the temptation along with the person’s presence and focused on the rainy background.

Her eyes watched as each droplet rolled faster than the last as the rain began to pick up its pace. And instead of continuing to focus on the rain, she found herself focusing on the person’s reflection that stood behind her.

It was a male who seemed to be oblivious to how close he was standing behind her and when the train suddenly jerked to another stop, causing his body to slam against hers. Her eyes immediately widened and soon after a furiously red blush spread across her face, she pressed her lips together and moved forward slightly.

But that soon seemed pointless as the train became even more crowded, forcing his body against hers. She nodded to herself and forced a tight lipped smile.

This situation was not ideal in her opinion, she crossed her arms and then glanced at his reflection, only to find his eyes looking back at her. She quickly looked away, tucking a piece of hair behind her hair and heat began to consume her the more she thought about the situation. She pouted in embarrassment and kept her eyes moving around the train, in hopes of not making any eye contact with him.

A heavy sigh blew past her lips, she blinked and finally made the decision to rise her head back up, peeking at the window and found him looking at his phone. A frown was planted on his heart shaped lips as he stared at his phone longer, he suddenly leaned down, his head pressed against her back. She jumped at the sudden contact, but soon relaxed as the feeling started to feel normal.

His blonde head of hair popped back into the reflection, along with him looking- no staring back at her. He ran a veiny, pale hand through his hair, her gaze faltered from his cat-like eyes and moved to his forehead. She then found herself looking at more than his forehead and it was longer than needed. Her eyes widened with a gulp, then quickly clearing her throat and as she looked back into his eyes, he was smirking.

She pressed her lips extremely tight together, looking away, her face got hot once more as she looked looked down at her phone to check the time.

6:37 pm

With a sigh she turned off her phone and slowly looked back, afraid to meet his gaze after she assaulted his face with her eyes. But she looked anyway at the taller reflection to find him looking up and this time it was his turn.

Now his eyes wandered away from her eyes, they didn’t stay on her face, but moved down her body, able to see her the way she couldn’t see him. And his eyes moved painfully slow down, before coming back up and as he did she saw him move closer to her. And deliberately pushing his body into hers, wrapping his hands around her waist. She shuddered at his touch, barely looking down as he then put his chin on top of her head.
