Prologue
The world of immortals was a complicated and messy place most mythical creatures exist created by various Gods, some old some young. Most supernaturals were immortal growing as mortal children then frozen at and adequate age. However they can still be killed. Humans are ignorant to them and rarely brought into their world. Likewise supernaturals rarely became involved in their games.
The immortal population was kept down by the ruthlessness that was common to all the species vampires feuded against werewolves, angels against demons, mermaids against fairies, gods against gods... ect. Most immortals kept to their origin world if it was other than Earth this helped keep population down as well.
Prominent celestial beings like the Greek gods, Norse gods, and the newest Christian God would become engrossed in their creations affairs completely obsessing over the praise and bloodshed all done in their name. To appeal to more beings Gods often took different forms and created a new religion in which they were still adored even if they didn’t personally create them. This of course created it’s own issues and kept the Gods prideful and hateful.
Something the Gods always liked to play with was the mate bond. They would call upon a coaxing Goddess of sorts she was a primordial she would paired lost souls together.
The Goddess was considered mad and most Gods went without calling on her for help. She didn’t take requests from the Gods she paired the lost souls together properly or not at all. In some cases Gods could force a pair that isn’t compatible and it would be doomed to end tragically.
The God and Goddess who created the werewolf line deeply loved their creations, so much so they called on the Goddess to ensure everyone had a mate. Given their animalistic behavior the mating process was born. The mates wolfs would recognize each other immediately, and a hunger to complete the bond would draw the people together. Once a mate is found rejection can happen at the cost of a considerable amount of strength taken.
