Prologue

My sister’s name was Bianca, and we had a lot in common. We were identical twins so we shared the same short stance, the same pale skin, the same round face, the same bright green eyes, and the same light brown hair. We even had similar names Bianca, and Beatrice. But that was where the similarities ended. Bianca was a kind, popular, extrovert, who loved pink, romance novels, and her family. I was a jaded, angsty, bitch who resented her family. Bianca excelled in school. I was almost held back multiple times. She lived in Maine, I lived in Ohio. She lived with mom. I lived with Dad.

When we were younger we were best friends. We told each other everything. We would wear matching outfits, make each other friendship bracelets, and do all kinds of cliche best friend stuff. But as we got older we grew apart. Bianca always seemed to be amazing at everything. And I was the family fuck up. It wasn’t fair I know, but I started resenting her for that. So when mom and dad split, so did we. I almost never saw her, just at two holidays a year. And I was ok with that. Ok so maybe I wasn’t. Maybe I did miss her, she was my best friend after all. But at the same time It had always been so hard living in her shadow. Now I wish we had spent more time together. Because now me and her share another big difference, I’m alive.

Kimberly: It's nice to have a great book that you can simply melt into. There's a touch of drama but not so much that it's jarring. There's a touch of spice but not so much that you'd be ashamed at recommending it to your mother. The characters have you both chuckling and rolling your eyes at the same time. ...
