It all started when I went to my friend Reagan's house. I didn’t know him that well. I knew that he just moved here and he didn’t have any friends, like me. We met on the first day of school and we’ve been friends ever since. I don’t remember too much about him anymore, but I do remember one day, when he told me he had something to show me after school. I met him behind the building, and to my surprise he pulled out a pocket knife and told me we needed a blood summit. “To please the Malum,” he said. I didn’t know what he was talking about, but I just went with it. He made me repeat this chant that I still remember to this day: “Our blood will drip into one another, in the glory of the Malum. Our blood will merge, and the summit will be complete.

"Lord Lav’eon is waiting. We will not keep him in that state.” After that, Reagan slit his wrist with the knife and handed it to me. I did the same. We put the cuts together for a few seconds. I felt our blood merge. And to this day, I stick by my claim that somebody was watching us. A figure in the woods was watching us.

As soon as I got home, I shut the door and started crying. Mom and Dad saw my wrist bleeding and asked what happened. I told them that I fell off the bike and slit my wrist by accident. Mom started wrapping it up and Dad went into the kitchen to get my a glass of hot chocolate. I sat in my bed, that night. I stared out the window, my hot chocolate by my side. The snow fell down hard. The white ground made me feel at peace. Mom came in my room and kissed me on the forehead, wishing me a goodnight. After she left, I looked back at the window. But something was different. There was a stick stabbed in the ground, the snow around it muffled. Then the stick started moving.

Another one emerged. I noticed they looked like hands, and they looked like they had fingers on them. The two “hands” started pulling out the snowy body. It was a snow man. It pulled itself out of the ground, it’s buttons muffled and its carrot rotten. It looked up at me and began crawling towards me. I screamed as the lights in my room flickered. The bug screen separating my room from the snow would not be enough to protect me. I began to close the window. The snowman crawled faster. I screamed again and twisted the crank handle fast. When it looked like the window would finally close, the snowman jumped towards me. Finally the window shut closed just as the snowman began banging on it. I locked the window close and hid under my bed.

I was convinced what happened that night was because of Reagan. I ignored him for the rest of the year. I never spoke to him. When we were walking down the street, I stayed on the opposite side of Reagan. We never interacted at all until he came up to me one day and invited me to a sleep over he and his cousins were having. By that time, I convinced myself what happened that night was all a dream. I accepted. And that was the most stupid decision I ever made in my entire life. When I arrived at his house, it seemed pretty normal. Reagan and his Dad greeted me at the door. Something was weird with his Dad, though. He was wearing sunglasses in the middle of winter. When I came inside, it looked kind of like my house. I greeted his cousins and they all seemed nice. The tallest one with red hair and freckles was named Rusty, the short one with brown hair and blue eyes was named James, and the oldest with blonde hair was named Jordan.

There house was about the most average place I’ve ever seen. I was expecting the walls to be covered with blood, “DIE” written on all of the beds, and Raegen’s Dad to greet me with a knife. The one thing that caught my eye was a painting that looked oddly familiar. It showed what looked like a red key with a black background. Every time I asked Raegen about it, he either ignored me or changed the subject.

We started the night off playing party games and stuff like that. Eventually, Reagen’s Dad came in and told us to go to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of a scream. I immediately woke up and looked around. Everybody was sleeping, except Raegen who probably went to use the restroom. I was about to go back to bed when I noticed a red light coming from the room across the hall. I went to investigate. As I peaked through the crack in the room, I saw Raegen sitting on the floor. On the floor, in some weird red substance, was the same key symbol I was on the painting with a circle around it. Candles surrounded him and there were symbol drawn all over the walls, smearing to the floor. “Crimson blood, a path to pave!” I heard Raegen scream. ”F̴I̸N̸D̶ ̶M̶E̷” a demonic voice responded. “All will hail. Feel my rage!” Raegen screamed, even louder. ”I̴ ̴H̵A̷V̵E̴ ̸B̸E̷E̸N̵ ̵F̵O̷U̷N̶D̴“. A black hole appeared in the wall in front of Raegen. Suddenly, my vision became blurry and distorted. I looked away, and my vision became clear again. When I looked back, I saw a figure with spikes on its shoulder and horns crawl out of the wall. It’s entire body was pitch black except for it’s four eyes, it’s long cape, and a weird glowing symbol on it’s chest. IT finally stepped out of the wall and stood up, towering over Raegen. The bottom half of it’s body was detached and was made up of tentacles. Raegen stood up and looked up at the creature.

"W̸H̸A̴T̴ ̷H̷A̷V̸E̶ ̵Y̵O̴U̸ ̶A̴W̸A̸K̷E̶N̸E̷D̵ ̵M̸E̶ ̸F̸O̷R̵?̵!̵” said the creature. Raegen picked up a book next to him with the key symbol on it and pressed it against the creatures chest. “I summoned you! I COMMAND YOU! DO AS I SAY!” The creature began laughing. It knocked the book out of Raegan’s hand.

"S̶t̸u̴p̶i̷d̴ ̷c̴h̷i̶l̴d̷,” the creature said as it grabbed Raegen and held him up to his mouth. The creature let out a fierce roar before biting Raegens head off. I closed the door fully and began running. I screamed at the cousins to wake up and ran out of the house, them following me. I looked back and saw a black fog behind us. Through the fog I saw four red demonic eyes. With no other place to go, me and the cousins ran into the woods. He were running for a while before Rusty spotted an old cabin. “We could hide in the basement and call the police,” he suggested. We all agreed and took turns climbing down the ladder. I went first. Then Rusty, and then Jordan. As soon as Jame stepped on the first bar in the ladder, and arrow whizzed by and impaled him in the skull. We screamed as James’ bloody body fell into the basement. I heard the creature’s fierce roar as Jordan shut the door. He pulled a matchbox out of his pocket and lit a match. “Don’t worry guy,” he said. “We’re safe now”. I looked down and saw Jame’s body, the arrow still in his head. Bugs were crawling on him. I then heard a loud breathing noise from the darkness ahead. Pitch black hands appeared and reached for me and Rusty. Jordan jumped in the way and the hand pulled him in. “JORDAN!” me and Rusty screamed in unison.

We climbed up the ladder and ran out of the basement. I ran towards the house with Rusty behind me. Suddenly, another arrow whizzed by and stabbed Rusty in the back, killing him instantly and causing him to fall backwards. I ran into Raegens house. All the doors were locked. The creature walked through the main doorway and I sat in the corner, scared for my life. As the creature approached me, he got down on all fours. The lower half of his body merged with the upper half and his tentacles turned into two large pincer like appendages that helped him crawl. His cape sank into his neck and disappeared. He opened his mouth wide and leaped at me. I closed my eyes and heard a gunshot. Raegens Dad was standing behind the creature with a shotgun. The creature leaped at him only to get shot again. In defeat, the creature crawled into a black hole on the ceiling. I stood back and caught my breath. Relief and horror coming over me. What have I just witnessed?
