Chapter 1
“MOMMY! DADDY!” A hoarse cry echoed through the hallway, startling you and your husband’s slumber. “Ugh... five more minutes.” Your husband whined, shifting to his side before dozing back to dreamland. You, however, forced yourself out the bed sheets and cracked the bedroom door open to approach the sobbing toddler.
You steadily crouched down to the small child and soothingly caressed his silky bowl-cut hair. “What’s wrong, Jin?” You cooed. Jin hiccuped and furiously wiped his tears, but it automatically kept coming back to roll down his pink cheeks. “J-Joonie broke m-my pink he-headba-and.” He stammered with a hiccup that followed.
You sighed but chuckled afterward once realizing how adorable your eldest son was when crying. Jin took notice and glared straight at your orbs.
“Mommy, it’s not funny! Punish him or something!” Jin cried. You hushed him before pulling his small form to your embrace. “Sh, calm down, Jin. I’m sure Namjoon didn’t mean to break your headband.” You countered but mentally thanked your fourth eldest son that his stupid pink headband was finally torn into oblivion.
You knew that everything Namjoon touched would be destroyed, and thankfully, he just had to be playing with the flexible plastic that morning.
Jin tucked his hands at the gap between your armpit and bicep to snuggle closer to you. Just when you pried him off your chest, Namjoon stumbled his way to your open arms. He too was shedding tears of regret, but quietly wept with his tiny hands clutching onto your tee.
“There there, Joon. Care to explain why you broke Jin’s headband?” You softly asked your kid. “Pink headband.” Jin corrected, sniffling his tears away before shooting a dagger at his brother. You nodded to Jin but placed your index finger to your lips as a signal of don’t interrupt Mommy when she’s talking.
“I-I’m sorry, M-Mommy. I-I didn’t mean to br-break it... I pro-omise!” Namjoon whimpered into your chest. “S-Sorry, Hyung.” He craned his head to his stern-looking Hyung, who laced his arms over each other. The older rolled his eyes. “Jin.” You warned him. He sighed, his tomato face turning to Namjoon’s with a forced grin.
His hand extended to his younger brother’s hair and playfully ruffled it. You could’ve sworn the sassy boy growled under his breath while doing so. “It’s okay, Joonie. Hyung forgives you.”
Namjoon smiled while showing off his dimples, which were inherited from his father. You grasped onto Namjoon’s small waist and flipped him to the direction of the other end of the hallway. “Alright, go wake up the rest of your brothers. Mommy will make breakfast.” You instructed. The two boys nodded before waddling back to their shared bedroom, which miraculously squeezed in five other twin sized beds.
That’s right.
You’re the mother of seven kids.
Well, to be exact, you would label them as the seven naughty dwarfs since they all sort of were relatable to the seven dwarfs from Snow White. Each personality they had fit perfectly with each dwarf from the classic movie. But as far as you knew, one of your sons named Jimin wasn’t naughty at all. He was just... well how do you say it? He was kind of on the passive side.
Jimin was like the mini you.
You finished up in the kitchen and lined up the kids’ breakfasts from age arrangement. “Good morning, Mommy!” Your beloved children greeted in unison, slipping into their seats after giving you your good morning kisses. It was like every other morning.
Kids eat their breakfast.
Jin, Yoongi, Hobi, and Namjoon get ready for school.
Hubby drops them off.
And you stay home to watch over your three other sons throughout the entire day. Never once you have gotten tired of it, and to your belief, you never would.
“Morning, Jagi.” Your husband grinned, Namjoon’s dimples plastered on the side of his cheeks. He leaned in to peck your lips but was interrupted by a chorus of gags. “Ew, get a room.” Yoongi retorted. Your partner’s eyes narrowed. “Watch your mouth mister,” He cocked a brow. You giggled when Yoongi slumped his shoulders in his seat, almond shaped eyes drooping like a turtle.
Your husband gawked at his wristwatch with an impatient expression. “Ah, shoot. Jagi, I have to head to work now,” He countered, earning an approving nod. He swiftly made his way to the four eldest boys before scooping them onto his broad shoulders. “Come on, boys. Grab your backpacks so we can hit the road.”
Yoongi yawned, which was followed by Hobi’s giggle and Namjoon’s nod. Jin began to ask bizarre questions as they exited the house. “Daddy, why do we have to hit the road?” Jin innocently asked.
The father contently sighed, shifting each son to balance their weight on both shoulder blades. “It wasn’t meant for you to take it literally-”
Jin cut him off with another question. “What does lighterally mean?” This kid. Your husband huffed in his thoughts, knowing that you would respond to him about patience and being a positive father. But lately, he wasn’t really into the whole father responsibility thing.
“See you later!” You called from afar. “Bye, Mommy!” Jin shrieked. From the tiny portion the rolled window exposed, you could see Hobi sending you hugs and Namjoon carelessly waving. Yoongi was too busy sleeping with his head against his seatbelt. The family van backed out the driveway and out onto the road, descending from the trees that blocked your view.
By the time you stepped back into your house and locked the door, a cry shook the ground beneath you. “MOMMY! TAE STOLE MY PANCAKE!” You heard Jungkook’s raspy yell. You dashed into the dining room to be greeted by a smirking Tae, sobbing Jungkook, and watery-eyed Jimin.
Jimin turned to you with a gloomy face. “Make him stop, please.”
By then, Jungkook was pounding his fists against the edge of the table while Tae—who was standing on the table—taunted him by waving a half bitten pancake in front of his swelling eyes. Jungkook’s tone only rose, making Jimin cup his ears and cry for your assistance.
You didn’t think twice.
Snatching the pancake, you stuff it in Jungkook’s mouth in the midst of his tantrum and carried Jimin, who has calmed down at the same timing the atmosphere did. “Tae,” You said. “Off. The. Table.” You rant. He used Jungkook’s head as support when making his way down the table and onto his chair.
Jungkook stayed frozen with the pancake still engulfed by his mouth before finally grinding the baked batter with his baby teeth.
Jimin restlessly nuzzled his head in your hair to nap.
And to think that the problem those three started wasn’t as worse than when all seven were together... you knew it was going to be a rough, rough day.
