Summary

"This, all of this is wrong, Summer. Traditional good and evil forces should not interact like this," Taehyung protested as he brushed his hot lips against the outer edge of my ear. [Sequel to Possession] Summer Rose has never experienced the warm joyous feeling of safety or any type of security for that matter. Her entire life has revolved around the constant threat of hurting her peers or the fear of being hurt herself. Ever since Summer was a small child, her mother had warned her of her special qualities, qualities that had been proven to be much more of a curse than an actual blessing. That is until she meets a man by the name of Kim Taehyung, the only individual who can see through her hideous defaults and offer her the sense of comfort she yearns for the most. ~ Kim Taehyung was not one to believe in love at first sight. In fact, he was built to resist the urges of love itself altogether. Thus one can only imagine his distress once he came to realize that he had unwillingly fallen head over heels for a woman by the name of Rose Summer. However, Summer is not just any ordinary woman, she happens to be a part of a demonic species his kind was instructed to despise the most. © 2018 yourfase (Note: it is highly recommended that you read the first book Possession before continuing with this story)

Prologue

“Autumn?” I choked as a broken sob welled in my throat at the horrifying sight of my older twin sister savagely chained against a moldy stone wall; her helpless form crumbled into a withered mess.

Sizzling fury suddenly ignited in my bloodstream while thick bands of darkened blood flowed freely down my beloved twin’s heartbreaking face. I quickly ushered towards my only source of family and desperately brushed her long scarlet hair away from her swollen chest. Pressing an ear to her clothed skin, I let out a muffled sigh of relief as I heard the faintest series of muted heartbeats pulse from her seemingly fractured ribcage.

However, my relief was only short-lived as my mind was abruptly flooded with the cold-hearted bastards responsible for my older sister’s pain and suffering. Never would I have ever imaged that my own blood and kindred would currently be crippled onto a dungeon floor like some sort of wild savage beast bleeding to her death for a sin she didn’t commit. In fact, I should have been the one suffering for justice, not my goddamn innocent twin.

I felt the rage in my veins burn brighter at the thought of those who have now betrayed me. Those who I had gradually opened my distorted soul to and loved as if they were my own. Those people were Bangtan sonyeondan, otherwise known as the Bullet Proof Boy Scouts, the largest herd of bastards there ever was to exist, or my now mortal enemies.

My sensitive ears picked up the soft pattering of footsteps that carefully approached me. I drew in a sharp breath, my pure hatred brewing as I inhaled the sweet stench of none other but the leader of all my pain and destruction, Kim fucking Namjoon. My dark magic immediately sang through my trembling fingertips, begging for the permission of their release.

I quietly obliged, a wicked grin morphing onto my tear-stained features.

“Summer?” Namjoon’s deep voice dared to speak from behind me, his smooth vibrato nearly rattling me to the core with distaste. I reluctantly stood up, pulled away from Autumn’s frame and slowly turned around to face the bastard.

“You really have quite the nerve to show your face here again after what you just did to my sister,” I taunted as the evil in my magic caressed my burning palms.

Namjoon gulped and I couldn’t help but chuckle for the fool did not even bother to shift into his true form, “Perhaps you have misjudged us in the past. We just simply wanted to-”

In a single movement too swift for any human eye to decipher, I rushed to Namjoon’s side and quickly decided to also caress the long column of his precious neck with my bone-chilling sorcery. Leaning forward to brush my lips against his earlobe; I muttered, “Please do me a huge favor and spare me of your deceiving bullshit.”

Then I lunged.

However a pair of powerful masculine arms wrapped around my waist, halting me from reaching my ultimate target; Namjoon’s continuously beating heart. A feral growl ripped from my throat as I struggled to escape from my newly attained barrier.

“Let go of me Kim Taehyung before I melt your goddamn bones!” I screeched in frustration.

“Baby, no. Please don’t do this,” Taehyung pleaded softly as his grip on me tightened.

I scoffed and dragged my sharpened fingertips against the skin of his arm. Taehyung screamed in agony at the sudden puncture but somehow managed to maintain his solid hold on me. Flipping me around in his arms so I was turned towards him, Taehyung bent forwards to harshly press his hot lips against mine. I held in a shudder as the deceiving bastard traced the outline of my lips with his warm, wet tongue.

Drawing back from our brief but passionate kiss, Taehyung moved to gently rest his forehead against mine, “If you have ever truly loved me, Summer, you would think of me as the reason why you decided to spare Namjoon hyung’s life.”
