Love in the rain

It will be one more day in my life with work, project, meeting, presentation which I love as much as it drains me. Busy much as days previous nothing going to change was one of my thoughts as soon as i got up but something felt new.

As morning bright sunlight graced its presence through the window greeting a good morning strong roasted coffee smell hit my mind alerting me. A warm and new feel engulfed me making be feel brighten. Get down the bed taking deep breath continue my routine

Yet the same confusion of selecting a dress, double checking myself within a minute in front of a mirror while cab horn was tearing eardrums waiting for me at my door step. I run down the stairs with my bag ID card and my new mobile. Get into cab settling myself greet my colleague chitchat about day which just started and gossips about Bollywood while listening to Soft music in busy moving cab in morning traffic, yet again in dreamland but soon forgotten ourselves in work new project as we sat in front of monitor, Presentation and decoding the codes as the time rolled.

Yet again a hot afternoon burning sunlight out but not affected by it all thanks to AC

I mid of work our eyes meet for a second and tear apart. Arnav, team manager, it a routine of stealing glances, avoiding gazes, shying away from another, missing each other, holding hands in secret, specking through our eyes, close still apart.

As meeting over with proving each other, presenting our hard work, screwing other correcting mistake we head to our lunch our daily routine. A small celebration of successfully submitting our project was accompanied.

As we all move to the rooftop restaurant for lunch get busy with colleague till he takes his seat opposite to me. Steal glance here and there and getting caught by each other ours eyes do speck but wish words get exchanged nothing changed as it same for past three years surrounded by chit chat gossips workload.

As I gaze at the sky muting the world around to absorb the beauty of sky while he follows my gaze

The sun hiding behind the white cloud which is painting the light blue sky as modern art each second. It felt light and new. Till the dark blue cloud invade the scenery.

As I felt the moist of the first drop of rain of the year along with a cool pleasant breeze, I look down to meet his gaze.

As our eyes me. I felt frozen in the shower of first rain of autumn while his eyes never left mine. It was peace and calm making me want to freeze this moment, it was a spell as I couldn’t move or didn’t want to move.

We were apart still felt together, we were different yet knew each other inside out, we were still missing each other. Buzzing cursing sound filled the surrounding but only sound which I felt was rain hitting its land and my heart beating as his wanting to be in his arms.

We didn’t know what exactly but we both felt new and different yet same thing reflecting in our eyes. I wanted to be in his arm even when the audience surrounding us. I didn’t want to hide from the world but to show it not caring the environment, we want to spend each second with each other yet we where far. Missing was killing us as we could feel the hurt our eyes.

It felt like home to be in his arms even in imagination. It felt complete holding his hands even in secret. It felt it right gazing at each other even in mid of audience and hold each other within our arms letting us know that we are there for each other.

It felt right to feel his lips against my cheeks which I never felt with other does he feel the same. As i felt his lips plant on my blushing skin of my cheek making me realize the feel of cold which was numb before and the very slight distance between us.

I am worried he would get freeze in pouring first rain with freezing wind . Concern was very clear in his eyes.

We near each other hold our hands intertwine it drag each other for shelter, As we reach the safe corner and roof above us I wipe his hairs with my shawl while he covers me with his coat. It was simple understand smile playing on his lips which warmed my heart which I returned.

Looking at our hand now intertwined made be blush creep my face but still refuse to leave. I felt right and wanted it which reflected in his eyes as well. I wanted nothing but just find shelter within each other arms. As if he knew what my heart want i felt his arm around my shoulder dragging me towards his wet shirt

I was hearing his racing heart beat which sounded as most beautiful sound in the world finding comfort in his arm this felt home and wish it the last longer. Never knew just a single four letter word could contain so much which can’t be explained.

Again back to presentation stealing glances but not with fear but with peace. No one watched as in their own world and us in our own world with our work.

The rain which showered its love to its earth made it clear about our love within our world, his and my peaceful world.

Happy to rest after a tiring day as time rolled but major concern was missing each other presence.....

The sky was fresh back again with its light and colorful rainbow painting as we step out of workplace meeting our eyes with happiness looking at each other conveying bye and promising meet again .

But when his palm held my wrist while passing him stopped me changing the day from rest of other days.

“Khushi, I felt the love of you and fell in love with you in this rain now the result of it beautiful wonder of the life the rainbow so my gift to it is to express my love. I love you Khushi, I felt it right to say it right now than later maybe surprising you but I felt its need of urgency as we delayed years now not expressing, I know you deserve better but this feels right and brings happiness, please look at me and say the same” I turn towards him with as happiest smile feeling content thinking someone I love loves me back. It was in his eyes his nervous smile made me feel this is what is life, something which I never felt before.

“I love you to Arnav, I can’t explain what I feel, but it feels heaven” with it again feel home in his arms. It was bone crushing, needing of each other.

“I love you” we chant simultaneously not caring the world around us which we did till yesterday.

We laughed, I cried, we felt happy, I felt the love in the air.

I stood on my toes reaching his height placed my lips on his forehead, it felt overwhelming love and care while he bent down taking my lips with his. Feeling each other, pouring each other love care might be lust but all masked by the feel of going to miss each other till next day. feeling of missing.

“Bye, be safe, drink coffee and dry yourself before you catch a cold,” I tell him worrying

“Bye Khushi we just created a new gossip which we have to face again tomorrow so be prepared, stay safe reach home before it gets late” I felt his lips on forehead felt his care and love making me cry in happiness yet again which he wipes and embrace me and we part our ways thinking of each other.

But today was different as we both felt the loved which we caged in heart thinking of surroundings, we both felt the love in the rain.
