Rising complexity in dystopian Africa

"This story was such a great ride! I don’t know much about African culture, which is a shame, so this gave context about how wonderfully diverse it is. Dystopian scenario notwithstanding. I found that piece of it just as interesting as the end of their world and their gods’ attempts at wresting control of it. Parts of it were really quite exciting, and occasionally funny, so we got a bit of everything that makes a story dynamic. I’m left asking questions. What is Horus’s purpose after being born? Are his intentions going to be noble? Seth and Osiris didn’t die, so what happens with them? To my mind, not all of those don’t need to be answered, and it may be better that they aren’t. But it seems like these entities are more impetuous and purely instinctual, which made it easy to subvert their plans. Human folly is just as prevailing, but things worked out for our heroes quite often. Framing the whole thing with Ben and Anders’ relationship made it feel more relatable as an overall story. Since we knew that ultimately, they end up together, what distinguishes them from anyone else telling this story? Overall, very entertaining and memorable. Excellent work."
