Prologue
I suddenly woke up to myself screaming, tears pouring down my cheeks. Almost immediately my father sprinted down the hallway, hugging me tightly. “Another nightmare?” he questioned his warm hands rubbing against my back, comforting me. I slowly nodded, wanting to puke.
“What was it about?” he asked, his voice calming me down.
“Vampires, they came to Wondersville, t-they killed every male and left the woman to watch,” I cried, wiping my tears on my blanket. This worried me because deep inside I knew I was a psychic, but nobody believed me and they insisted that it was just a mere coincidence. “It’s okay, that won’t happen here” he assured me, hugging me tighter.
“Are you sure?” I said refusing to believe anything else. He nodded confirming
“Goodnight Osa” he whispered into my ear as he layed his soft lips on my forehead kissing me goodnight.
“Osa, wake up!” my mum screamed urgently, “The vampires are here!”
My heart dropped, I knew I was psychic. ” Where’s dad?” I mumbled, my arms trembling. My mother’s face filled with sadness and pity. “They killed him when he went to protect our household.” she cried.
The sound of someone knocking on the front door echoed through the house.
“We need to go HIDE, now” my mother whispered into my ear, aware of the vampire’s super hearing ability.
