Not As Great As It Seems
It was a normal day for 17 year old Melody Armstrong.
She got out of bed at her normal time. Hate breakfast at her normal time.
Went to school at her normal time even kissed her boyfriend at her normal time. Live was good for Melody Armstrong. Everyone at her school loved her and all the girls wanted to be her friends.
The boys hung there mouths open as she walked past them. They all wanted her to be his girlfriend. When Melody was already taken.
Kay den Bray den was his name and dating the hottest girls in school was his game. He and Melody met one year ago and have been known as the power couple of the entire school.
Melody didn’t consider herself one of the popular girls in the school even though most people did. She was just a normal teenage girl with long brown hair and blue eyes! A lot of the boys at her school had a thing for girls with blue eyes not sure exactly why that was.
Even though most people around school treated her like one of the popular compared to Brittany Rose she was no where close.
Brittany Rose her enemy since first grade had always been on top. She could get anything she wanted by one zap of her fingers. Her dad was one of the richest men in all of Los Angeles! Or even out of that maybe the entire world.
Her family had more money then they knew what to do with.
Brittany Rose may be popular but there is one thing she lacks as a person being kind to others! Brittany Rose as shown to piratically the entire school her true nature that she is a bully and she doesn’t care who she hurts! Don’t stand in her way or she will tell her daddy and you will wish you didn’t cross her.
″How are we doing today Melody! Brittany asked as her two blond haired friends came up next to her. Welcome to the live of a teenage girl in middle school.
Meet the two dumbest girls in the entire school. Laura Evens and Maddie Evens.
They are knows as the dumbest sets of twins in the school. They may have their looks to back them up but when it came to thinking outside the box you would have to explain to them that there wasn’t actually a box.
″Fine. ″Shouldn’t be tear a rising a town or something right now! Melody said. Brittany smiled then her smile frowned.
″Come on Melody! ″There is no need to be rude at school! ″We are friends aren’t we. She said sweetly. Maybe in another life time where pigs fly! Melody thought. Melody noticed that Brittany was still staring at her and dozed out of her thoughts.
″Oh! ″I’m sorry I got distracted by your fake nails, fake attitude, Fake Body and need we forget your fake hair! Melody smiled at Brittany. Brittany smirked at Melody.
″I may be fake but at leas I am not a fat pig like you! She said. Melody’s eyes widened.
It was true although Brittany was mean she still had something that she didn’t she had a tiny body. She had tried for the last 2 years to lose weight but anything she tried failed her. Brittany smiled then turned away from her. Maddie and Laura following behind.
Melody quickly ran to the nearest bathroom and locked herself in one of the stalls.
Although no one had ever told her she was fat besides Brittany it still haunted her. She tried every dieting and weight loss kit she could get her hands on but nothing seemed to help her.
She hid his face in her hands and cried. Everyone thought she was the nicest person in the entire school she may have kindness on her side but she didn’t have that tiny body like Brittany did.
″Melody Said a small voice. She slowly wiped her tears away and froze.
″Melody. ″You in here. ″I heard what Brittany said to you.
Melody’s body froze as she heard a knock on the stall door. She didn’t want anyone to know she locked herself in the bathroom stall and that she was crying.
It was one of Melody’s weakness she went through most of her life trying to not cry in front of anyone for she thought it was a sigh of weakness. Brittany never cried in front of people so why should she.
″Melody you don’t need to come out if you don’t want to! ″But I just want to know if you are alright. Another knock on the bathroom stall. Melody slowly wiped her face and unlocked the door.
There was a girl in front of her. It was non other then her best friend Grace Valentine. Grace was her best friend since kindergarten.
They were the best of friends since all those years ago and they are still friends now in middle school. Grace was a tall skinny girl with long pink hair and green eyes. She wasn’t much of a popular girl but people still knew who she was.
″How are you feeling She asked. Melody walked past her quickly and looked herself in the mirror. She ran the water and threw some of it on her face.
″Were you crying Grace asked worriedly. Melody shook her head.
″No! ″Everything is fine! Grace eyed Melody. Something about her wasn’t right. Melody looked a lot thinner then she had remembered. She bit her lip and turned Melody around to face her.
″What are you doing! Melody shouted. Grace looked into her blue eyes. There was something that Melody didn’t want her to know.
″Are you still doing that...
″STOP IT! Melody shouted. Grace flinched releasing her friends shoulders.
″I am not doing that anymore okay! Grace watched as Melody walked quickly pasted her the bathroom door closing behind her.
Grace had a sinking feeling that Melody had been either starving herself or making herself throw up after a meal. She had to admit that Melody’s behavior worried her.
She remembered the time Melody was rushed to the hospital when she was about the age of 15 because something was horribly wrong.
The doctors said that she was losing a lot of weight too quickly and that if it continued that she would die.
The doctors had a sighed her pills that would cause her to gain weight. Grace thought about that day all the time after it happened. She couldn’t remember one moment of her life where she wasn’t thinking of it.
How could she not think about it when she one the one who called and told Melody’s parents that what their daughter was doing was extremely dangerous.
After that day there friendship was never the same.
Grace had remembered that day like it was yesterday the day Melody was well enough to come back to school she remembered seeing Melody get dropped off by her father and how Melody just ignored her when she tried to talk to her.
They spoke some time but it was never the same.
Grace regretted telling Melody’s parents about what she was doing but she knew that her best friend needed help weather that meant losing her forever.
