As soon as I am informed by my mother about our visit to the village of Odeth I can't help but let out a disapproving groan. I hate history and I sure as hell hate visiting an old village where there's no connectivity to outside world and is completely surrounded by creepy looking places which are older by a thousand years or so.
"C'mon Kara it isn't going to be that bad." My younger brother by 2 years, Wyatt, who may I add is a nerd and a mamma's boy tries to persuade but it just makes me to glare at him and turn back to my mother with pleading looks. "Mom, I don't want to go. Besides I could just stay at Stacy's."
"I don't understand why you don't wanna go. I mean you haven't been there before to hate the place already", mom says. I don't have to be there to know how boring this all is going to be.
"Well, too bad, you are going with us sweetie", my dad says. I just groan and walk back into my room and quickly call up Stacy, my bestie, to inform her about my plans.
She picks up at the last ring. "Sup!" "Stacy you know what..." I explain her about our trip and all and await her reply which isn't what I liked but is exactly what I expected.
She squeals loudly almost making me deaf in the process and says,"OMG!! Kara you are going to THE VILLAGE OF ODETH, how are you still sane. I mean that village is famous for an amazing looking-" "Alright Stacy, enough! I don't wanna hear that bullshit again. Everyone is being ridiculous. Shouldn't everyone be scared and the govt ban everyone from going there and apparently getting themselves killed by the-" "NO!!!! YOU ARE GOING AND THAT'S FINAL!" and with that she hung up on me.
"Wakey! Wakey!". "WYATT!! GET OFF OF ME OR I SWEAR I'LL-" "OK! OK! I am just here to wake you up. I don't want us to be late." I glared at him as I woke up and ushered him out of my room and got ready.
After having our breakfast and having our bags in the car, we all were ready to go BUT the problem is who gets the front seat! Wyatt and I looked at each then at the car and then without any countdown we raced towards the car. Ofcourse being the faster one Wyatt reached it first but before he could open the door I jumped on his back. He licked his hand and then held the handle lightly. I took that as the best chance to push him away and entered the car.
"Eww!! That's so gross!!", Wyatt exclaimed. I rolled my eyes at him as he took the back seat with a groan. Soon our parents came and we were off to the village of Odeth.
So now we are standing in front of a beautiful cottage!? Wait, wait...
"Mom, aren't we going to stay at some hotel?"
"No, sweety , why would we want to stay at a hotel if your aunt May stays here?", mom says. Oh yeah! I wouldn't have bothered to find that out knowing that I am not going to enjoy our stay at all.
"OH MY GOD, You kids have grown up so much. I still remember Kara being a toddler and Wyatt being a fussy baby.", my Aunt exclaimed. Wyatt groaned beside me. Everyone knows about him being a fussy baby and a mamma's boy since he was born.
We all entered the cottage and I was surprised by the cosy and homely interiors. Aunt May then showed us to our rooms. The cottage was quite big from the inside. It had 2 rooms in the ground floor taken by the the elders that are my parents and Aunt and Uncle. The first floor had 3 rooms out of which one belonged to my cousin Noah who is about a year older to me. He was apparently out with Uncle to buy groceries while the other 2 rooms were occupied by me and Wyatt.
I entered my room with my bags. My room was neither too big nor too small. There was a closet and a bathroom which unfortunately was the common bathroom between mine and Wyatt's room. I went to the bathroom and locked Wyatt's side and took the much needed shower. After showering I put on my casuals and peeped outside the window of my room.
I was awestruck by the natural beauty that stood before my eyes. But what stood out of them all was the castle behind the forest.
