Chapter 1
I, Jungkook am trapped in another person’s body.
-2 months earlier-
“Slow down Jungkook!” she yelled, laughing and trying to catch up.
“You’re getting slower and slower everyday Nani,” I whined, panting slightly. When she finally stands next to me, I notice that she is drenched in sweat. I giggled softly, “I don’t think you’re cut out for this.”
She smacked my arm, talking sternly, “Shut up Jeon. Not everyone is good at this like you, ‘Mr. IHaveToBeFirstPlaceEveryTime’.”
I rubbed my arm, pouting slightly, “Rude much.”
“Me? Rude. To you?” she gasped, “I could never!”
I rolled my eyes and started walking towards the benches.
“You heading home?” she asked, following behind me.
“Yeah. I gotta help my Mom with dinner tonight.” I sat down, taking a drink of water.
“I thought you’re Mom didn’t ever cook? Someone coming over?”
I nodded, “Mhm, her colleague’s family is coming over.” Sighing, I got up and started gathering my things.
“It’s not the end of the world Kook,” she said softly, patting my back.
“I know, but I have to go now, otherwise I’ll be late,” I mumbled, starting to walk away, “bye Nani.”
“Bye-bye!” she yelled, waving.
As I was walking towards the parking lot, my phone started ringing.
I picked it up, not bothering to look at the caller I.D.
“Hello?”
Silence.
I unlocked my car and spoke again.
“Hello?”
Laughter. I was met with laughter and the voice of my brother.
“I can’t do it!”
Rolling my eyes, I said, “What do you want Kai?”
“Well, Mom said to hurry up and get home, so hurry up dude.”
“Okay dude, I’ll be home in 15 minutes max.”
“Okay, see you soon.”
I quickly hung up and threw my duffel bag in the back seat. Just as I was about to get in, I heard a loud smash.
I jumped slightly and looked around. I didn’t see anything, so I looked around the car that was right next to mine and saw a boy about my age, maybe a year or so older.
He had long-messy-black hair and a hard expression. He just stood in front of the car with the smashed windshield, staring at it.
“Jeon!” Nani yelled, running up to me.
The boy looked up, startled. And we ended up making eye-contact.
“Shit,” I mumbled, quickly turning around and bumping into Nani. “H-hey Nani,” I stuttered slightly.
She raised her eyebrow, looking at me suspiciously. “What did you do Kook?” she looked behind me, and I also looked back.
“What? I didn’t do anything.” I furrowed my eyebrows.
“You’re skittish... Like a fucking cat. Anyways,” she waves her hand loosely, brushing it off, “I was wondering if you could take me home. Chan said that something came up at home and he couldn’t come to get me.”
“Oh yeah, get in,” I said, watching her walk to the other side of the car. I quickly looked around the other car again, seeing if the guy was still anywhere around.
When I didn’t see him, I turned around again, mentally shrugging the image out of my brain. I got into my car, started it and then drove off in the direction of Nani’s house.
I had gotten home later than what I had told my brother and my Mom kept scolding me.
“For Christ’s sake Mom. I already told you why I’m late,” I sighed, “like a million times I’ve told you.”
I told her everything... Except I left the boy out.
“Still Jeon Jungkook, they are gonna be here in less than an hour,” she smacked the back of my head.
I groaned. You know that one spot? The spot on the back of your head that only Mother’s seem to know? That spot where they can hit you and then play it off like they ‘lightly tapped’ you. Yeah, well my Mother does that shit all the time.
“Go set the table,” she said pushing my out of her way. I just nodded, grabbing plates and silverware.
I walked out of the kitchen and into the dining room, thinking to myself, I understand why she’s angry. She hates when people don’t communicate worth shit. And I didn’t bother to tell her that I was gonna be home later than what I said.
I mentally sighed and started placing the plates down on the table.
“Jungkook!” my Mother yelled, “the food is done, come get it.”
I quickly placed everything else down and walked back into the kitchen. She handed me a couple of platters and shooed me off again.
After everything was set, I ran upstairs to take a shower and get ready.
I hopped into the shower, sighing contently. The warm water felt relaxing on my aching muscles. I let my head droop forward as my eyes started to close.
Lifting my hand, I pushed my hair out of my face.
Soon after a small knock was heard from the other side of the door.
“Hyung, Mom said that they’ll be here soon.”
“Okay, I’ll be down in a minute,” I said, turning around and shutting off the shower.
“Alright,” he mumbled, walking off. I for out of the shower wrapping a towel around my waist tightly and opened the bathroom door.
After I got dressed, I hurried downstairs, just to hear the doorbell go off.
“I got it!” my brother and I yelled at the same time, running for the door.
I ended up getting there first, opening the door quickly.
“Hello! You must be-” I stopped talking. It was that boy from the parking lot.
He stared at me in shock. I quickly looked away from him and to his Mother.
“Ma’am,” I said bowing to her.
“Ah, you must be Jungkook! It’s so nice to meet you,” she said embracing me in a hug. I hesitantly hugged her back, thinking about how awkward this was.
“It’s nice to meet you to ma’am.”
She pulled away gently, “Just call me June.” She then spotted Kai standing behind me and I moved out of the doorway to allow them in.
The boy looked at me and looked away again, walking passed me.
I sighed mentally and thought to myself.
This is going to be a fun dinner.
