Chapter 1

Deep in the dark, swampy forest was a rather small country the Arachnae nation. A country populated almost exclusively by Arachnids including spiders and scorpions.

It was less than six thousand square miles under their control the countries main export was wood and silk, two things they had far too much of. The country though had little to no influence in the 'United Monarchy' that Filalith used.

Despite this fact, they did possess one large city, 'Scorpio', within which their queen currently resided, along with ninety percent of the country's population. It was an important moment; the birth of their new king.

There were many species running around the now packed settlement ranging from Spiders to scorpions and all for a single reason. To watch the hatching of the twin eggs that were wrapped in the old queen's nest. The first of which would be destined to be king.

The room, though normally barren, was packed to the brim with guests who wanted to catch a glimpse of them, even if it was just the eggs. All kinds of furnishing the normally adorned the room were removed to make space for the sudden rush of visitors that the room was not designed to accommodate.

The young queen, Elizabeth, was standing beside her throne with a frown. She was a dark brown spider who stood just over six feet tall at her shoulders. Besides she was a human man though his appearance was much different than that of a purebred human.

The man looked kindly at her with soft blue eyes and a kind smile. A large snow white tail flicked behind him slowly as a set of canine ears, matching the tails color, flattened against his head in worry. He was muscular, and his bare arms covered in scars. It was clear the man was a warrior who had seen more than his fair share of battle.

"I know this is painful. But it is for the best. They want him among us because of the power he will have. If left untrained he can easily destroy your whole city without a second thought." He explained slowly looking at her. It was clear this hurt the man to be telling the queen, but it was necessary to protect not only the queen but also the child.

Eliza shook her head with tears welling, more so from anger than sadness. "Nomas. You know just as well as I that we cannot allow you to take my son. He is not going to be a monster like you were. He will not be born among your kin. He shall be born among mine."

"If you take him we will have more problems than you can prepare for. Doing this would be kidnapping and would cause a war between us."

Rubbing the sword at his waist Nomas shook his head. "It is not as simple as where he was born. This is of his species. "Shifters cannot remain among other species because they always cause trouble. Even when they are unaware of their abilities."

The queen shook her head looking to the man with streaks of tears falling down his insectoid face. "Take him away," She ordered the guards as the man was grabbed by two large scorpions.

The man seemed annoyed at the woman's actions. "I will be back. No matter what you do this will come to fruition. With or without your aid."

*Meanwhile*

But to the surprise of one young couple one of the eggs began to emit a muffled 'cheep' noise, Followed by a quiet cracking.

The queen was summoned quickly and she was forced to wipe away her tears to make her appearance with the sudden influx of visitors who wished to be present for the young spider's birth.

Within an hour, the already packed room's residents nearly doubled leaving the poor old queen crammed in a corner hoping to get any space as the first young spider fell into his mother's arms with a plop.

The room erupted with coo's and awes as everyone tried to get a better look, "It has your eyes," one spider commented from not far off.

"And such strong legs," a scorpion smirked.

"Get back people you're crowding the poor thing," another pleaded.

"Just look at him," the queen smiled as the dark brown spider tried to grab his mother's hand. "He will be a great ruler one day," But through all the excitement the whole of the group missed a single important detail until…

"What on god's green earth is that?" One creature shrieked pointing towards the other egg.

Within which was a small human child, but that wasn't the strangest bit about him, as he sat looking around the crowded room with deep purple eyes, a small orange tail wrapped around his waist as a pair of ears placed atop its head moved rapidly to try and listen to as much as he possibly could.

"It's a monster." A man stated grabbing the child by the ankle and hoisting him into the air.

"PUT IT DOWN!" a woman yelled, "It might poisonous," The man listened letting go of the child and letting him fall into the empty shell with a resounding snap causing the room to fill with a collective gasp.

"Okay, everyone out," a lime green scorpion called as two others began funneling people out of the room. "Come on end of story,"

But it wasn't, this child's story had just begun…
