Summer Love (TodoDeku)

The school year had just ended but as usual, friends were dreading departure from one another so as a final group activity, class 1-A had decided on a beach trip. One whole week spent on the beach with all their classmates...of course, some were more excited than others. Everything seemed to be handled pretty well by Iida as he was the class rep and insisted on booking the hotel, making the room roster, seating charts for the bus, etc. He posted the list and most people seemed fairly excited about their roommates, including a certain Izuku Midoriya who had gotten roomed with Shoto Todoroki. Throughout the year, Izuku and Shoto had managed to get along quite well and apparently Iida had taken note. Needless to say, Izuku was rather excited for this week-long retreat to the beach with his friends. The ride there was unbelievably long as they had started rather late in the day, so naturally most of the students were eager to get off, find their hotel room, take a shower and head to bed. Piling off the bus, soon Izuku managed to slip out, wearing a pretty big grin as he gazed up at the hotel building before himself, those emerald eyes glazed with excitement with what was going to come. The boy grabbed his bag and grabbed one of the two room keys from Iida, heading on inside after a few other students.

Shoto Todoroki was feeling uneasy about the whole beach trip, insecurities flooding his mind like crazy. He had been dragged into this by Iida, and already the teen was regretting his willingness to be dragged along. He felt a little better when he noted his roommate was none other than his best friend and secret crush, Izuku Midoriya. *perhaps it won’t be so bad after all…* he thought, following the other students into the hotel. He carried his bag over one shoulder, approached Iida, took a room key, and entered the main hallway. Shoto gazed along the heads bobbing ahead, and managed to pick out his favourite green mop way in front. The teen gently eased his way through the students to catch up to Izuku, and then spoke, “So, I guess we’ll be in the same room, huh?” As soon as the words left his mouth, he wanted to disappear. Of all the things he could have said, he picked the lamest, most obvious thing ever. Shoto could feel his body tense up.

As Izuku walked along, his gaze was locked on his crimson high tops, eyes glassy as he quietly gazed over the room number printed on the key. Jumping slightly when the other spoke up before another smile crossed his lips, freckled cheeks all rosy as he responded in a kind tone.

“Yeah. Looks that way,” he chuckled, a slight bounce in his step as he gazed forward.

“Personally I don’t think Iida could have picked a better roommate for me,” he admitted quietly, glancing at Shoto with that award-winning smile across his rosy lips. “I’m really glad that you decided to come on this trip, Shoto!”

Shoto smiled at the bouncy teen next to him, then sighed, “Yes, I’m starting to feel good about coming here myself. I just...well, I just feel uncertain about when we all head to the beach to go swimming. I think I’ll just stay in our room when that time comes around.” he reached their door first somehow, unlocked it, and held it open for Izuku.

“Ladies first,” he joked, his grey-and-blue eyes locked onto Izuku’s emerald ones.

“I don’t know if I’ll be swimming either if we’re being honest. I’m too pale for a swimsuit and I feel like if I set foot in the water Kacchan is going to drag me to my watery grave.” Izuku admitted with a tiny laugh. As Shoto opened the door, the tiny green haired boy gave a sweet little smile at the other’s teasing.

“Oh, such a gentleman,” he replied before entering and looking around, soon placing his bag by the wall. Looking the beds over curiously, Izuku cocked a brow and decided on letting the other have first pick on the bed.

Shoto laughed softly, closing the door behind him as he followed the other into the room. He set his bag on the bed near the air vent, then flopped down on the mattress, sighing in content.

“Aah, this feels great. I definitely don’t wanna get out of this thing anytime soon, that’s for sure.”

A grin crossed Izuku’s lips as he nodded in reply. “I’ll bet...it was a pretty long ride here…” he stated, soon moving his own things up to the bed that was pressed against the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom.

“So, if you’re down for the count, does that mean I can shower first?” he asked gently, kicking his feet as he rummaged through his bag for some fresh boxers, a sweater, and some sleep pants.

“Yeah, knock yourself out, Izuku. I’ve gotta get some shut-eye; wake me if there’s anything to do with food or emergencies, okay?” Shoto let his eyelids close, and he felt his usual wish of seeing Izuku shirtless crossing his mind. He pushed it to the back of his mind, scolding himself for thinking of the other like that.

The pale boy flashed a sweet grin before nodding, “I’ll try to be really quiet...good night, Shoto…” he hummed to the other before heading to the bathroom and closing the door carefully. Izuku was soon stripped down as he got the water going, his clothes and a towel waiting on the toilet seat as he stepped into the shower and started washing himself down.
