In Fields That Were the Universe

We stood amidst the morning mist

Where freedom lay revealed

We conquered hay-bale mountaintops

We Titans of the Fields

Each summer meant adventures spent

Each future still unknown

In fields that were the universe

In worlds that were our own

Our lives progressed, we less and less

Explored the clouded fields

The magic wouldn’t show itself

Its dwelling lay concealed

Yet still we’re drawn to misty dawns

Where wonders yet exist

In fields that were the universe

In worlds we sorely miss
