My back was pushed solely up against my chair as my hands glided across the computer tiles, every now and then my hand would curl around my coffee cup and bring it up to my lips.
"Amber! I'm heading, be safe!" My dad shouted from downstairs as I stood up and shuffled my top down to make sure it was covering my stomach before walking to the top of the stairs.
"Always am father," I said, and he nodded before kissing my cheek lightly when I had joined him at the front door. He nodded before heading out and I sighed, running my hand through my brown hair.
Okay, back to work Amber.
I sighed as I stumbled back up the stairs to work on my last PHD, criminology. Bad idea, I should've done it in Uni but I decided to do it at home.
A ping on my phone made me look down, It was dad. My hand flew up around my mouth and I sighed. Dad, I'm going to kill you. I thought as I turned around to grab my blanket.
He had texted to tell me he had gotten me a bodyguard for when he wasn't here, he was also an FBI agent - perks. I've always wanted to be an FBI agent, so being with one might be good.
"Miss Collins?" Asked a voice from my door way and I turned to see a guy, dark black hair that was messed lightly - his hazel brown eyes loomed on me as his lips were pursed into a thin line.
"Yeah, that's me." I said, crossing my legs over underneath my blanket, finally meeting his eyes. "Please, call me Amber. Miss Collins makes me feel high privileged and a total bitch, which I'm not and I'm totally rambling." I said, rubbing my fingers over my eyebrows as he cocked one of his at me.
"Sorry," I muttered.
"It's fine, If you need anything I'm going to be downstairs. If you have to go out, I will be taking you," He said and I nodded, before swivelling back around and starting to finish off my uni work for today.
My body was drenched in sweat as I rubbed my limbs on my arms, I flipped my hair again so that it was again in a high ponytail.
I wiped my forehead before letting my hands hit against the punching bag, hard. "Amber, You friend's here." The FBI agent said coming in, weirdly - I have still to know his name.
"Thanks..." I said, cocking a brow.
"Alec, Rosco." He said, and I nodded. "Thanks Alec, just send her in here." I said, and he nodded before walking back out - not even looking at the state I was in, like most males would.
"Okay, who is that hottie outside?" Cathie White asked, as she basically ran into my training room and I hissed before shutting the door.
"Are you mental? He can hear you!" I snapped, and her eyes shone with amusement.
"Do I really look like I give a shit?" She asked and I rolled my eyes at her. This girl.
"You're unbelievable," I said as I walked back into the middle of the room and kicked my bag with such force that it hit the floor, causing Cathie to jump back in shock.
"Calm down, why are you so mad?" Cat asked, her eyebrows raised and I chuckled. "I'm not," I confessed and she cocked a brow but didn't ask anymore questions.
