Quesela (1)
Today is my first day at a new school. It’s like my sixth school because i can’t stay out of trouble. I’m always in fights, and always winning them. I just can’t seem to get along with anyone besides Piper. I hope this will be different.
“Hurry up! You’ve been in there for an hour!” Rose exclaimed.“Get your scrawny self out of the bathroom! Other people need it, too, you know!” When I opened the door she hit me.
“Ow! God, Rose! Just because I took forever in the bathroom doesn’t mean you can hit me!” I yelled. I stormed off before she could yell back. Then someone knocks on my door. “I’m changing,” I lied. “Go away.”
“So I guess you aren’t doing my hair for the first day of school?” Lilli said faintly. “I’ll ask mom to do it. Sorry for bugging you.” I could tell she was about to cry. She’s been really upset ever since the first time I’ve gotten in trouble.
“No it’s okay, come in. I lied anyway.” I told her through the door. It hurts really bad when I hurt her or Billy. They might get on my nerves, but I love them no doubt about it.
“Are you sure?” she squeaks. “I can ask mom, or I don’t even have to have my hair done.” She’s shaking again and it’s probably because of me. That hurts to think but I think it’s most likely true.
“You’re wearing a very fancy dress, so you need your hair done. So come here and I’ll do your hair,” I say. “I’ll do your hair like I always do. A basic raid with different ribbons and make it a little messy.” She’s laughing by the time I’m done. I just love doing her hair. It’s just so long, silky, and beautiful.
“You don’t have to. I can really ask mom. It’s really no big deal,” she partly whispers. “I don’t really care.” She fakes a smile, but I knew she wanted me to do her hair. When she was little she asked me every day to do her hair.
“Just go sit down, Lilli,” Billy told her. She jumped; of course. “Haha! You need to be less jumpy.” he continues to laugh. Then out of nowhere Lilli hits him. She’s never hit anyone before or anything. She won’t even kill a fly, but gets mad at us when we do.
“How ’bout you shut up for once,” she told him. “I’m tired of you doing that to me all the time!”
“Okay, sorry Lilli,” he sighed. After he left she was all happy again. They always fight like this. Everyone thinks they’re close, but they’re not.
“Come here Lilli, so I can do your hair.” I told her. After about 10 minutes her hair was done. I don’t believe you still have time to do this stuff. I hate the voice in my head. It’s the guy I got into a fight with before. He sounds so annoying. You’re no good. No one likes you. No one loves you. No one wants you. Not even your family. Just that voice makes my skin crawl with hatred.
“Kids come on! You don’t need to be late for the first day of school!” Mom yells. She started to say ‘need’ instead of ‘want’ ever since I got kicked out of the first school. That’s how I got kicked out. She wasn’t happy with me then or now. I skipped too much I guess.
“Come on Quesela! YOU really don’t need to be late,” Lilli called from the stairs. Her mom and Rose are always on me about my attendance, but my LITTLE sister of all people! “Are you coming or not, Quesela?!” She calls again.
“Sorry coming!” I called back. When I went down the stairs everyone was waiting on me, again. It’s a thing with me; I’m always the last one. “Sorry I was thinking. Really didn’t know that I was thinking that long.” I apologized. Man I didn’t think I was taking that long.
