Chapter 1

It was a cold winter day in Louisiana, not the typical warm, muggy Louisiana days Lilly was so used to. What made it even worse, it was still dark, meaning the midnight chill was still in the air. Lilly’s alarm rang at 5:00 AM, which is when she gets up on school nights usually. She has to be at the bus stop at about 6:00 AM, which gives her an hour to get a shower, eat breakfast, brush her teeth, put on her makeup, do her hair, and get dressed. Except she never heard the alarm that day. At 5:45, Lilly’s sky blue eyes open as she yawns. She grabs her phone, which was charging right beside her in the bed. The brightness was still turned up, so she squints her eyes and looks away before she turns and looks at it to check the time. She jumped out of bed as quickly as she could. She rushes to the kitchen to get breakfast. She decides that it will ultimately be a waste of time, as she gets free breakfast at her school, despite it being subpar and not ideal. She decides not to get her usual morning shower, as every night, she gets a shower anyway, so she can thoroughly wash her long, flowing blonde hair and small, lean, and athletic body. She only gets her morning shower to help wake her up anyway. She quickly brushes her pearl white teeth. She looks in the mirror and applies her makeup. Lilly then briskly walks to her room to pick out what she wants to wear to school that day. She has a blue dress picked out. She checks the weather on her phone. She then realizes it’s 28 degrees fahrenheit outside, and the high is 52 degrees. She’ll freeze in it. She sighs and mumbles a few words under her breath, hanging the dress back up. She likes wearing dresses and formal-looking clothing a lot. She also loves wearing casual clothing. Well, she just likes wearing clothing she likes. She then looks through her wardrobe for her somewhat lacking winter clothes. She decides on a pair of jeans and a fleece sweater, beige in color. She smiles. “This is perfect!” Lilly exclaims. She hurriedly gets dressed, making sure she has all the supplies she’ll need throughout the day in her backpack before zipping it up and putting it on. She checks her phone again. It’s now 5:58 AM. She walks out the door at a brisk pace, making sure to shut the door behind her.

How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...

jeannie2244: Such a different story from your usual love story. I love stories that aren't just a cookie cutter romance with the same story line and predictable. This is unlike any I have ever read and so nice to read something new and refreshing.
