Chapter 1

Where to begin?

I was going to the same school in the same town with the same people for almost all my life. First you go to elementary school together and to the same high school, that was life in Stone City, Minnesota. If it sounds boring, try to live it. If you were lucky they liked you and everything was bright and shiny, if you weren’t, well that sucked... I was somewhere in the middle and honestly I was perfectly fine with that. Two best friends and a brother is more than enough for me. Our school had the usual clichés and I couldn’t really put a label on our group, not that it mattered anyway. But somehow it all changed when they moved into town.

It was a good summer compared with all the other years and so everybody was in a good mood. The thing is, in a small town like Stone City every single person already knows everything about you even the things you didn’t know about yourself. And boy they like to gossip, seriously cosmopolitan is nothing compared with our neighbors. So when the rumor about new inhabitants spread, I was a little suspicious at first; I mean they also said that my brother is filthy rich and adopted me... Come on people, that never happened. So yeah... Anyway, they actually came and everybody was excited; on a scale one to ten it was probably a twenty. They all hoped the new people where the dream neighbors nobody had. So when reality came and showed us that the new people where four, yes four, single hot guys the excitement under the elderly was gone pretty fast. But every single teenager in Stone City doubled their excitement and were almost bouncing on their spot. I on the other hand didn’t really care; I was at that moment in book number three of the lux series so you can’t really blame me. I mean Daemon Black people!

So when I walked into school the first morning of senior year and saw everybody staring, I was really hoping that I did put on some clothes instead of walking around in my PJ’s. I even checked to see if I was wearing a jeans and to my surprise I did have them on. You have to know that I walked around in PJ’s the whole summer holiday. Looking over my shoulder I saw four guys walking like they own the place and all of them gave me a dark glare that could Voldemort make jealous. They made it pretty clear I was in the way of their fashionable-badass-walk. The moment I made eye contact with the four guys I knew that they would make my day a whole lot more difficult than it have to be so I spin around and with on big step I was standing in front of my locker. Greeted with a smack against my shoulder and an angry glare from my two best friends...

‘Lex, seriously? What is wrong with you? Did you not see that you were walking in front of the new people!’ hissed Beth one of the two friends I have. Giving her a simple look I turned towards Ellie who just gave me the same look Beth gave me. What was the your-unbelievable-look, or it could also her I-never-ever-want-to-be-seen-in-public-with-you-again-look. Either way she wasn’t one my side, what was actually a surprise because she was always on my side. ‘Guys relax, they’re just some guys who think they are the cool kids and- THEY ARE THE COOL KIDS’ Beth loudly interrupt me and got suddenly red like a tomato. ‘Guess we are the cool kids’ a deep sexy voice said. I turned around for the second time that day only be faced again with the same guys but this time I decided to see the fuss about them. In technical terms I checked them out. Yep I totally did that. Most of them didn’t even looked at me but at the fake barbie’s at the other side of the hallway. The one before me gave me a smile with a wink and without another word or look the guys walked away like nothing happened, while all I could do was stare at them with had must have been my dumbest look ever because an elbow in my side made me close my mouth. It was like they never stood before me at all. Like he didn't just winked at me and even had the nerve to smirk at me while giving me a wink. Never in my entire life have I been so lost for an explanation of what just happened a minute ago. Because why would he be intersted in me. The look in my eyes most have said a lot because Ellie took pity on me and grabbed me for a hug. ‘It’s okay Lex, they forget about it before it is even lunch’. With one last squeeze she turned around and made her way towards her classroom. Still waiting for an explanation I turned to Beth only to see that she was already gone. Meaning that I had no clue where my classroom was because Beth always tells me.

While I grab my books I start to wonder why said Ellie what she said. I mean come on... a guy can be interested in me right? Shaking the feeling off I made my way to administration, hoping the desk lady wasn’t in a sour mood so she could tell me my classroom.

15 minutes later and my timetable in my hand I walked towards the classroom where I was supposed to be. Not hearing the voices near the hallway where I needed to be I was meet with several eyes trying to burn me to a crips Realizing that these eyes belong to the four guys, I lowered my gaze and tried to walk away from them. Yeah at least I tried... Not even close of my destination someone grabbed my arm so that my nose was now in his chest and I feel a bruise forming on my arm. Looking up I see the guy who had spoken to me in the hallway and for a second all I could see were those beautiful emerald eyes. Snapping out of it while trying to get out of this dead grip he just stood there and watched. ‘Hey can you let me go? I need to get to my class.’

Giving me another look the guy dragged me the other way while the rest followed us. ‘So what are you planning? I mean I don’t know you like at all and uhm well this is kind of weird you know. And by the way where are you taking me?’ Before I could say something else he let go of my arm and towered above me with the others. If I wasn’t standing in the middle it would have been a hilarious thing to see but right now it was kind of weird and uncomfortable . And they still hadn’t said a word. Slowly my cheeks were getting red and honestly, the situation was getting a little awkward. You would have felt the same if you were surrounded by four nice looking, good build guys. Okay scratch that, even I the antisocial knows that they are hot...

‘We should let her go, I mean look at her, she is a nobody, no one will listen to her.’ Those slightly hurtful words come from the guy who had looked the nicest. I mean they all look badass but he looked a little nicer than the rest, guess I was wrong. ‘Uhm, I guess you’re right although it does hurt a little that you say that while you just got here like 5 minute ago. But yeah I mean - I am a straight A student but further I am pretty normal.’ There was another uncomfortable moment and the guy with the emerald green eye started laughing. ‘You know for a nobody she is pretty cute.’ Dude, just let her go, I saw someone else who is perfect for it.’ Two of the four guys walked away and now it was only emerald green eyes and the nice looking guy who wasn’t nice. ‘Uhm so can I go?’ My voice came out a little more higher than normal but they didn’t seemed to notice. ‘Yeah, we don’t want you to miss all you’re classes princess. See you later’ And with another wink he left me standing like an idiot.

This is going to be a long day.

How I came home that day is still a mystery but I did and that is something I am very proud off. You are probably thinking wow how hard is it to find your way back home when your school is just a 10-minute walk, well it is damm hard when you got dropped somewhere in the middle of nowhere surrounded with nothing but trees and four idiots... Yeah, you read it I was with the four brothers who weren’t nice at all to me except for the one who could only flirt with me lost in the forest. And none of them wanted to listen to me for directions, why would you? It’s not like I lived here for my whole life...

So how did we end up there? Well let me explain.
