Chapter one: The Bath
'The Bath' not exactly the type of opening chapter title you expect to find in your average self help book, is it? Well, I chose that title for two reasons. Firstly: This is not a self help book. Thats right, it is NOT a self help book, say it aloud and let it wash around your gums. My guess is that you are reading this because you (or someone you know) have suffered or are currently suffering with depression, anxiety or are just generally struggling with mental health. Well, this book is going to be filled with tips that I found useful in my mission to take the bull by the horns. However, you must remember that we are all different, and that these are tips and methods that I found useful in handling MY depression, so they may or may not help you, but I'm sure that after reading this, you will have gained some useful knowledge. I must clarify that if you are looking for a miracle cure, you might as well stop right there, because (I understand this might be hard for you to process) but there just isn't one. Now, I would love nothing more than to tell you to sit down on a lush grassy field, with a summer breeze blowing through you, whack your favourite panpipe covers cassette on and reassure you that "its all going to fix itself man" but I wouldnt want to waste your time. Not that depression doesn't ever right itself, sometimes it does. In certain circumstances people have found, over time, that the feelings and thoughts driven by depression, do ease and subside. It just has nothing to do with trouser seat grass stains, or panpipe music.
