Chapter 1

What Did We Do

No one knew what happened that night, in that house. We knew if we told, things would go downhill and we would be the first suspects and also the first to be arrested, but what if we get too deep into the mystery. We would have to tell. Right?

That night was the untold murder that was to be figured out and by this dumb town. Though really that murder was different. We saw it. But that night we did something, something that changed everything in our friendship, that was non-existent at first, to something very strong.

Our town wasn’t like any other small and quiet town, that was what the commercials said at least. We lived in fear and danger everyday. But our town covered everything with a white lie and somehow got away with it. The news, other states, commercial made the town seem perfect with the white lies. Our town was Ribiaville or what we called goosebump town on occasion of course from the eerie feel given off.

Our town can’t cover up this one, not even the curious kids that couldn’t get enough of the mystery of our town and the secrets in it. But this story is something else, something different, something dangerous. That day was like any other day in our town just a, I can’t say nice or quiet, day like any other. We went to school walking through the censors to make sure no one brought a gun or any other weapon to school. But of course it went off and didn’t scare us unless you were new here, which didn’t happen often.

Before that night I wasn’t friends with the people I only knew as enemies or people that I never wanted to know. I walked passed them in the halls knowing they didn’t like me nor did I like them but that would all change. So that day everyone in the whole school was invited to a party that one of the so called popular kids was hosting , I wasn’t into parties that much but my parents always wanted me to get drunk so maybe I might socialize with the people there, because they called me antisocial for not wanting to associate with the people who get laid. So I went in honor of my parents you could say and got bored after being pushed around by drunk, and sweaty people for about 30 minutes so I left.

Then I found myself walking with 2 other people, Fabian and Xenos. I don’t quite know how I ended up walking with them but I did, maybe it was when I was lost in my thoughts. They were mildly drunk but sober enough to see straight, luckly. I was walking home and on the way to my house is a really creepy house that I always pass, it was weird, because Fabian and Xenos weren’t drunk enough they heard the noises coming from the house too. So being the curious dumb people we are we went in to see what it was. The place being run down and old the doors were unlocked.

We walked in and heard vicious screams from upstairs and started running and we saw who was screaming, it was a girl from our school she was being tossed and throw and around the room then she got stabbed, Xenos tried to grab the person, to stop the knife but then was pushed onto the ground and Fabian being Fabian he did nothing, being to scared to face the hooded stranger. Fabian picked up Xenos and the person went onto the balcony, thinking we wouldn’t follow from the scare. But we followed, staying out of site being too scared to step in.

The girl was struggling but we couldn’t do anything. All we did as watch and we all regretted that in the end. Screams. Louder. No one to see. As we watched, we saw the balcony leaning down or pushing forward from pressure. Crack. Screams. Then eventually she was over the edge. Not wanting to stick around the murderer left. The blood was on our hands if we got caught as the murderer ran away and we didn’t even catch a glimpse of the person. The body landed on the ground so perfectly it could’ve been staged but when we ran down the stairs terrified of what we could see. Pulse, not there.

She was dead she wasn’t moving and was silent. We didn’t know what else to do except for burry the body, we were freaking out, I never thought making a grave would be our initial thought though. The body was so perfectly landed that we dug around it and tried to drop down the body and bury it and never talk about it again. Or we hopped to never talk about it again. But that night after we buried that body we made a packed.

Fabian said, “ This is our secret forever, we take this to the grave, the blood is on our hands now,” Those words he uttered would be something I never thought he’d say. It was also a lie though.

“We need to talk and sort though. This isn’t just a natural death. This is murder.” Xenos said very firmly.

“I agree but lets do this tomorrow, I don’t know if any of us can talk right now.” I said, they both nodded al of looking the the dirt and sweat on our hands.

That night was the unspoken murder that made three kids turn into friends, they thought they never be, by the secret of a bloody murder. Then and there was the day we realized that the murder is still out there and the secret is still inside and that it’s gonna be a lot harder than we thought to keep this secret.

After that day it was different Me, Fabian and Xenos talked a lot the next day but it was still going to be hard to keep this secret from the school the city and from the girl’s family, but a question that raised in all our heads 24/7 from the moment we buried the body was a question that we don’t even know how to start to answer.
