Prologue

“Who knows sometimes even a dream can be too incredibly a determinable factor to change someone drastically!”

I never believed in the magical realism held behind dream. Dreams are said to be created when we’re unconscious. Our brains remain brisk even when our bodies are cold death and impasse. Dreams are seen of varied sorts; some can be very weighty and momentous that are of unparallelled significance and are meaningful in one way or the other and some are haphazardly terrible. Some even, oblivious of what is happening in actuality, happen to do as same as what they see in their dreams. Spiritually, it is said that we dream because our soul is restless and wanders in different places where we have reached in reality. But it is just being too superstitious and woo woo. At times, even we tend to reach where we never reached and never even thought in real life.

Recently, I have seen a princess charming in my dream that slightly changed the way I perceive things in and around me. I never thought that this undefined dream can be incredible enough in shaping up my life in actuality. The driving reason could be because I have repetitively experienced it without even single abstinence. I was not up to curb thereon and never knew that I was on the verge of believing it to be true. The proofs of many tales of legends about their vision they see in their dreams and exactly that happens in reality has added an advantage in my recent perception.

Until recently I started sharing many people, especially my own colleagues, about my repetitive dream, they too were all fired up. Though there wasn’t any concrete resolution yet they concluded that it is because I am aspiring and coveting for such a girl. Was it really? But it wasn’t deniable either. Moreover, it wasn’t that too late to prove.

It was a lovely Saturday and I was heading to my office based at Chubachu, Thimphu. I worked as a managing director at ‘The Bhutanese’ which is a private newspaper company launched in the State. It was almost getting late and I was running as I didn’t take a ride since the office was not that far. It was just about ten minutes walk from my resident at Norzin Lam B 4 building. I was running looking on and off at my watch which reminded me that I am late by five minutes and fifteen seconds which were increasing as I progressed. Phew! I didn’t realize someone too gorgeous to gaze at was walking contradiction to me. I ran into her whom I have oftentimes seen in my dreams.

That encounter was both fortunate as well as unfortunate for me; favoured because I got to see her and unfavoured because the incident was unexpected. My eyes spun and I was left befuddled. I could neither apologize nor utter due to instant encounter and that left the bitter impression unto her.

“Hey Mister! Don’t you have your useless eyes inside your sockets?” She arrogantly inquired, placing her palm at her forehead right on where my forehead hit. Her face shrunk with conspicuous anger and frustration. Her eyes widened as big as the Caspian Sea, bulging with silver lining of ire.

“I’m so sorry for that! It came about unfortunately. I was running and simultaneously looking at my watch so I didn’t see you coming.” I replied, quite ashamed, too, due to her mischievous conduct to a complete stranger. Actually she shouldn’t have spoken rudely or at least should have said normally. That wouldn’t have prompted any mess.

“F*** ya!” She shrugged, her face a crimson red, and her middle finger resembling a dildo without feeling any guilt of her speech and action. It’s the offcome of and or is what inherited from modernization. I don’t even feel peculiar because I have been seeing these habits from my post secondary school days. The girls were so emboldened that they never even hesitate to show those nasty signs, excluding the words which are too common. In today’s world of economy, though everyone runs after modernization yet it has its undeniable negative consequences.

“Hey! I think you have crossed the line. It’s not the manner a woman should adopt.” I tried to correct her but never knew that I had gone too bitter.

“Mind your own business! It’s nothing that you should poke your nose nor is your business. It’s my life and I know how to behave.” She instantly and furiously replied, her eyes so widened that they bulged, and continued, “Don’t try to be smart...I know how to behave with a man like you. You rascal fistula!”

“I think you completely misunderstood me. I am not at all what you thought, dear!” I responded, really down in the mouth to see her idiosyncrasy. But it’s an outcome of current era, I have to bear with such things now and then.

“What what....are you saying that you ain’t, you p*****tt!” She smiled coldly and remarked dirtily. The anger her meon revealed was incalculable! For Pate’s sake, she should be prima donna, by any means.

“I apologize if I couldn’t convince you but I am not such a guy that you’re presumbly thinking of.” I said, firm and entrenched this time. I didn’t look at her nor she did. After a few seconds, she mumbled.

“Ooh..... really? Then I apologize for my misconduct. I didn’t really know that you're a good person because these days we cannot afford to trust anybody.” She finally apologized with her hidden clement voice and a blush. She was extremely embarrassed that she couldn’t dare to look at me.

“Finally there you are! I accept your apology. We are humans and we cannot be a complete disciplinarian.” I replied with a smile. I felt relaxed, probably my parasympathetic nervous system had started to work to bring the situation under control. The prior hot boiling sensation was replaced by a relatively cooler one.

“Thanks young man. I thought you’re...uh....” She stuttered, her cute fingers caressing her lips in disarray due to nervousness, and couldn’t find the apt words to describe.

“Umm...that’s good. Entreating other harshly is a f****p and it’s an ordinary human behaviour. One should understand one’s own mistake and try to correct them. You know, one of our vital abilities is to correct ourselves. If we don’t correct ourselves, there will not be any self-progress. The Buddha once said, ‘If you cannot change yourselves, even I cannot change you.’ Because you have that a priori ability to correct yourself, your life becomes meaningful to live.” I consoled with a smile, though I had become too philosophical on the other way. She blushed and whenever our eyes met, she tried to look askance. But in every instant, I could see the growing lovely smile on her face.

“Friend.” I gave my hand for a shake. I didn’t know how but I felt too fast intimacy and firm nexus being developed within myself.

“Um...OK. Sure.” She blushed and gave her hand for an approbation. She blinked her eyes oft due to nervosity but it allured my enthusiasm and I grew even fonder than ever before. It’s interesting intuition that we fight, forgive and forget. I never expected that one day I would be madly in love with her. MADLY YOURS!

Every so upon, even a dream can be too incredible to tranform someone drastically.
