Chapter 1

It's a place where flying saucers are nothing but the norm, and civilization is happiness in the form.

People dressed in a single hue where complexion is nothing new. There are some who rest in a cocoon and grow things in the moon, swap their crops in hopes of harmony while seeking answers in simplicity.

Long before, old cities were buried under a giant mass of water. No souls left alive but trapped flesh in a timeless mirror.

Then life took shape in a new land dismissing the drowned cities in their book of history, forgotten but unforgiven.

Somewhere away from the cocoon, deep in the metropolis,a man earns his keep by walking into a box surrendering to the wires plugged into his brain.

He places his palm under a dispenser to receive a coin for a meal and a drink and sometimes enough for a night's frivolity. He answers his door and greets a girl in a space suit. Her eyes are intoxicating, he stutters in his speech. She smiles without a pause making him happy beyond cause.

He runs his hand against her pearlescent skin when he sees words inked in black and bold saying,

"Batteries sold separately".
