A cool brisk wind blew over Hardhelm village as whispers frolicked through the air as the villagers conversed. They ranted and created heinous lies about the head family of the land, the Browns. The Browns have ruled the lands of Hardhelm for over a century, and would seem to rule over it for a century more. In a small sloop of a home poor villagers discussed different things.
"The rebel's are over twenty thousand in men, and are making pushes that draw them closer to Hardhelm each passing day." The biggest one said.
"Hush up mut! Do you know what the punishment for treason is." The red headed frail village woman stated, and quickly followed up "It's death you ignorant fool!" She said as she folded her arms across her chest. The largest villager said in response "I'm not suggestin' anything, I'm Jus' saying that we should begin to prepare for the worst." The woman looked at him with a flare of her nostrils and a slight snarl.
"Betrayal." A feint voiced called out as the woman and large villager looked around for the voice. A man stepped forward from the shadows that the lit torches cast across the room. "That is what your suggesting big man." The feint voice belonged to a rather peculiar looking man. He stood with upright posture, and drawn back shoulders that made them appear broader than they actually were.
The large villager said with a rude and rough voice "Who the hell you s'posed to be?" The strange man stepped closer so that he was now within a arms reach of them. "My name is Agar Nividia. Might you show me the same courtesy and tell me who I am conversing with?"
"Jennyifer Suala." an unexpected reply from the petite village ginger. The question had not been directed at her, yet Agar nodded in acceptance. He then looked at the man with a stern gaze. The Massive villager gulped down his own saliva loudly as he was taken by fear when the man looked at him. Though the villager was many times larger then the rather small Agar, There was something about his gaze.
It was as if Agar was peering into the man's soul and mutilating it. "Dan." The large villager said. Not in his usual burly and dominate tone, but now in a much more meek. . . and frantic voice. "Well Jennyifer, Dan." He said and took a short pause. "To revert back to the previous subject before I abruptly interrupted. Treason. . . You are speaking of treason, and quiet frankly I am impressed.
You must both be sharp, because it is time for a change." The man said as he took a pause to study the reaction of the two, so he could plan his next move. Dan was bright eyed and seemed excited, a vast change in mood from a man that if you had encountered not long ago you would believe a coward. The snappy ginger however had a much more plain looking expression.
Not seeming to impressed. Agar continued with his original plan. "The Browns have sat on top of us all for too long. Knowing the threat that looms around the corner they have decided to deny it, and focus on other things such as making sure their child has a perfect birthday celebration."
The man paused once again, and observed the same facial expressions from the two dimwits. "So Even though the punishment for treason is death, I think we should be much more worried about the rebel forces that push forward. While they slaughter and destroy all of the other lands that pledge themselves to the Crown King. The browns are more worried about how much grain was harvested last Summer season.
"He was interrupted by Jennyifer" We should stop this talk of nonsense immediately. The browns may be dull minded, but they are loved by the population." Agar chuckled slightly as he rubbed his thumb against his furrowed brow. "On the contrary madam, There is unrest and whispers going around just like the ones we are discussing now." He interjected, and before the ginger could reply he stated.
"The browns have a ever loosening grip on hardhelm, and I will be damned if I allow the good villagers to get caught in the crossfire."
Agar exhaled heavily as he took time to figure out how he should approach this. He needed this first conversation to go his way, because if it did not then his plans would fail ultimately. "If we gather all of the villagers together then we would surely have enough to overthrow the Brown family and kill their small amount of guards." That statement rattled the Ginger, yet the Broad dimwit Dan was already supporting the Idea.
"What the hell are you crazy?" She asked in a shout as Agar looked at her as he prepared his bait. "I know that what I'm suggesting is border line insane, and I do not blame you for being skeptical. . . look if we overthrow the I plan to take lead of Hardhelm and pledge loyalty to the rebellion. When I succed if you stood with me the I promise you a seat on my personal council, and more gold than you could ever dream of."
He stated. With that now the Ginger was even intrigued, and as a silence fell over the room they all seemed to nod in agreement.
