Intro
I can almost feel the heat of her skin touching mine. The sparks, yes, I will never forget how this woman brought me to such extent. For once, I was thankful for the cold wind that distracted her while I figure out how to keep my eyes off her.
She didn’t seem to notice: but while she’s busy drinking her hot chocolate and trying to get her hair stay put, I was looking at her intently. Her ignorance gave me enough time to admire the freckles on her cheeks, the way her lips turned slightly red from the hot beverage, her eyes that glowed the same intensity like how my heart beats fast. I’m not quite sure what the color of her eyes is; all I know is that I’m whipped just by looking at her.
“W-waeyo?” (W-why?) she stuttered. Shoot. She caught me.
I snapped back to reality, realizing that I’ve oggled too much. Bad Jungkook. My hyungs will definitely laugh at me if they’re here.
“Nothing.” I said. She smiled brightly at me and returned her gaze at the swaying trees.
We’re currently at the park: where we always usually meet. I don’t know. Every time I see her, it’s always in the park. Not inside the mall. Or school. Or concerts. I met her here. And I always find myself meeting her at the very same place.
Should I marry her here?
“Hey, Jungkook.” She called.
“Ne?” (Yes?)
“Aren’t you going to ask my name?” she asked.
I chuckled. “Why bother? You’re not going to say it even if I ask.”
She laughed and I smiled a little because we both know I’m right.
As much as I’d like to know her name, I don’t feel like forcing her. I’m always willing to wait. Besides, I like mystery. A little touch of suspense.
And I like her.
We’ve been going on like this for weeks, months even. She always have stories and jokes to share, and I always listen. We sing together, play hide and seek, I watch her draw, she watch me practice my dance. We even… slept here. In the park, yes, it was very embarrassing. An old woman caught us hugging each other, thinking we had sex. I’m still thoroughly ashamed every time I remember that.
It almost felt like being an idol is just any other achievement I’ve reached. I went through great lengths just to be one, but now, having her here beside me is enough.
An idol. Sooner or later, the call of responsibility will wake me up from this fantasy. It means that I have to endure another day without her.
So I have to act fast before the sunlight peek at my window and the sound of Jin-hyung’s voice wake me up.
“Hey.” I nudged her elbow. She looked up at me.
I saw the same spark in her eyes that I almost always admire. At times, those sparks can be intimidating. But whenever I look at them again, I feel warm, like a soft blanket was draped over me to keep me from the cold.
And I’m looking at it right now. My insanity. My dream. My “Her”.
Yoongi-hyung always ask me why I’m too happy in the morning. Like I have this… glow, he says. He thinks it’s weird that I’m blooming like that. But I don’t. It’s pretty normal.
She never fail to make me too euphoric I fear that I might dissolve into a puddle of happiness.
“What now, Jungkook?” she asked.
“I…”
“You what?” she asked again, taking another sip from her hot chocolate. Damn, I want to kiss those lips so bad.
I think I won’t ever be over her.
“I like you.”
“JUNGKOOKIE-AH!”
That’s it. Dream’s over.
I will wait for another day to pass by, welcome the night, close my eyes and sleep so that I can meet her again.
She’s the love of my dreams, not my life.
Because I met her there… and not here.
As the door opened and the ever noisy Kim Seokjin enters, I chose to ignore him and clutch the only thing I have that she owns.
My heart.
