The heir

Another day just starts , another misery. I know I should look the full half but for me there’s no glass to look through. I live in a village which is the lowest part of our community.

My family is poor , not only of wealth but also in hearts, but you can’t choose your parents.

I glance at myself in mirror, my black hair is I brushed and my clothes are lose on my slender body. I’m no beautiful at all. Maybe that’s the reason I have no fiancé in this age.

Every other girl in my village have fiancé and that's a good thing for their families because actually here girls will be bought with a tradition called marriage, the man’s family should offer money , farm, goats or anything that count as financial help,then the girl’s family will accept the marriage. It’s kind of like solding the daughters. Such a savage tradition.

And I still have no one that wanted me which is a disappointment in my poor family.

When you born in a poor family you can't have lots of expectations, our parent would teach you never dream big, actually in these families we learnt never dreamed about anything.

"Bella, you stupid girl, move your ass in here before I come after you and drag your lazy ass in kitchen "
You see, it's my good morning from my lovely mother!

I try to pass my heavy sleeper brothers, it's hard to skip these hands and legs that are spree everywhere. I actually have five brother, no one better than the other, they're just lazy asses that hate my guts with no reason.

"Morning mom" I said as I entered the kitchen, if you can call it a kitchen, our house isn't too big just a room that I share with my fives brother and a little hall that we all can't even fix in it with a little kitchen.

"What do you think with yourself Bella? Being lazy and sleep all day won't make breakfast for your brothers and father? What you want? Send out into the forest?" My mom nags

I should mention in this society isn't a good thing to be born as a woman , women are nothing but toys for men to play with, they should cook, take care of children, clean, pleasure them and again cook and blah blah blah
We mean nothing to men and I was a shame for this family to born as a girl after my five brothers. I mean nothing to them , specially my dad, he'll use every chance to get rid of me.

"I'm sorry mom " I answered
I start making breakfast with her, it's not too much , just eggs and bread in the best way. Sometimes we just could have warm milk, of we I mean my brothers and father, the women should eat after men in this land or at least in our village.
This territory contains 10 villages and cities, as you imagine we're the last, the first city is where castle is, the the other just sets up by the money the citizens have, the wealthier you are, the better city you live ,so we're the poorest in this country .

"Bella give me the dishes..." My mom interrupted by a loud bang on the door

"Who could be at this time of the day? Why you standing there Bella? Go and open that f*cking door"
I nod and run toward the door because whoever it is ,didn't stop banging on the door.

I open the door as a fat woman push me away without paying attention to me and shout as loudly as she could "Ivy, Ivy" she runs toward kitchen and I follow her interested in whatever she wants to say . Because who bang in your house in morning without any interesting things to say?

"Ivy what the hell you doing here?" She asked my mom looked so scared.
"Well Nora what you expected me to do?" My moms answer to the women that now I know her name is Nora as she try to organize dishes.

She continued without letting my mother to finish her sentence "You have to leave, the knights are in the town, they're furious with people and there's a battle started at the center of village, we're not safe here anymore"

My mom cover her mouth in shocked and my hands start to shake, you can tell I get scared easily but there's nothing I can do about it, it's my body reaction every time that I'm around new people, or these kinds of situations.
The Knights don't have any hearts at all, they are the most cruel humans I have ever seen, of course not more than the king itself.
"B-Bella, go and tell your father and... And your brothers" my mom asked me shakily

I nod and run toward the room start shaking my oldest brother August "august, August wake up, it's emergency"
He just move his hand toward his face, I bring a glass of water, I knew he'd be furious but I have no other way
I pour the water on his face

"WHAT THE HELL BELLA?! I WAS SLEEP YOU STUPID GIRL" he yells at me and stands up, holding onto my arm it almost bruised it. " I-I'm sor-rry, it was important, i-it's a battle started at town"
I stutter hate this scary face of my brother but I can't help it, I have anxiety and no one care about it so I learn to live with it.

"What battle?" Be asked still furious but a little worried. "It's the Knights and people"
He nods and in a second he was gone to wake up our dad and others
I go to the kitchen again because somehow I feel safer around my mother, at least she won't beat me to death if I do somethings wrong and that's the one who I am, a one who always do wrong, let's not mention how clumsy I can be sometimes. When I got there , Nora was no where to be seen , I wish she and her family be safe.

After an hour my dads decide we should leave here until everything gets better
"Go pack everyone" he order to us as he looks for his sword , I start following my brothers but his voice stops me "except you Bella"
I turns around to face him , his not planning on leaving me here, is he?

"What Alex? She can't..." My dads interrupt my mom "yes she can, she should stay here to keep the house in place, we don't wanna lose everything want we?"
"B-but dad.." "But what? After all the caring that I do for you ,you just can't do a thing for me? I gave you a roof, I gave you food and a family but you can't even say a complete sentence without stuttering, how disgusting you are" he shakes his head as I look at the ground to stop my tears from falling

He obviously hates me but I did nothing to deserve this hate, I'm only a nineteen years girl who want her family to loves her.

Before I know it they all leave the house without a word and I just stand at my place waiting for death to come
