Prologue: the past secrets
Jan. 5, 1920
My name is Jose Lopez and this is my journal. I never wanted this journal, but I feel I must voice my discoveries. I am an archaeologist with many secrets to withhold. I know it may seem unusual for me to be writing this because there are not many archaeologists. The term is barely used. But I must.
But in this journal, I will tell all. Before...before I am too late. Two weeks ago i was in New Mexico doing a dino dig. There I was with my brother, Joshua Lopez, and I made a very interesting discovery. I found the bones of a Tyrannosaurus-Rex. But it was unusually shaped so I did what most of my people do-I kept digging. And deep under the bones, I found something similar to a Pterodactyls wing bones. That’s why I began writing this journal, to tell what I discovered. I believe I have found evidence of a dragon!
No One will possibly believe me so I will keep this a secret from my colleagues, including my dear brother. It is the only way. I must go now. Someone is knocking on my door. I hope it is my friend Jonathan Smith with my new tools. Goodbye.
