Summary

Every night I go to sleep, and dream a new terror. each feeling more real then the last. Dare I try to stay awake, I fear they would come and fine me. I took a deep breath looking over the edge. I had nowhere to go, they would catch up with me soon if i didn't do something. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place, jump and fall down the seemingly bottomless bit, or stay and face the monsters that where yet to catch up to me. My hair fell in front of my face as i looked down the bit, savouring my last few moments of life before I met my demise in one way or another. Looking behind me one last time, the hoard in the distance. I said a silent prayer before closing my eyes and letting my body fly downwards into the darkness. As I fell I could feel the world start to peel away around me, everything becoming less and less real until- I shot up in my bed taking in breath after breath of air. I was fine, it wasn't real, none of it was real.

Run

Smiling.

Why was he smiling?

As he spoke, those horrible, terrifying warnings, why would he keep smiling like that?

you can’t win

I shudder at the memory. Every bone in my body had simply been screaming one thing. Run.

But I didn’t listen, I just smiled back.

Why didn’t I run? What possessed me to think that sticking around would benefit me in any way.

All a lon le

That’s what he said right? Before everything went wrong? all a lon le? No that sounds wrong.

RUN

There was suddenly a voice in my head, yelling at me to run.

but I couldn’t. My muscles where stiff.

RUN DAMMIT

The voice cried out once more. It repeated again and again. Run Run Run. It made my head swirl. I fought desperately to move anything.

I’m telling you. You won’t survive.

I remember him telling me that. All whilst grinning like a fool. i don’t think I’ll ever forget his face, that grin...

RUN PLEASE JUST RUN

It sounded so desperate now. Begging and pleading with me to just move one muscle towards the exit. God did I want to, but I couldn’t.

A cold dead laugh sounded from behind me. I felt tears run down my face as I desperately tried to move towards the exit that was so clear in my sight.

“She told you didn’t she? She told you to run.”

I’m so sorry.

Tear after tear fell down my unmoving face as the man approached me. The voice fading to the back of my mind before dissipating completely.

"She told you to run, and he told you you'd die." He said walking towards me slowly. "Did he tell you something else per chance. The smiling man." He was right behind me now.

"I might let you live if you tell me." he trailed a knife down my back. I let out a sob, I can move. I can talk.

"Come on now!" he yelled.

"The smiling man! What did he say?" He yelled. As i got a better look at him I realised that he was anything but human. darkly coloured scales adorned his otherwise pale skin. Horns protruded out his head, blood fell from his eyes as if he was crying.

"WHAT DID HE FUCKING SAY?" He screamed.

I don't know where the words came from. I don't know why I answered like I did, but I have a feeling if I hadn't, I wouldn't me alive today "all a lon le" I sobbed out. "I don't know what it means but he said it. Right before he sent me here." I started breathing faster, everything aching.

"Run." A twisted voice called out. It didn't sound like the man in front of me, but through all this, that was the one thought that made sense.

Run

So I did. I ran as fast and as far as I could, people would chase me, ask me where I was going. They where clearly disturbed by the sight of a young woman, barely covered by torn garments running with fear in her eyes that could never be matched, but i never stopped. I refused to stop. Every time i even thought about it, there was a voice in my head begging me not to stop.

Then I woke up, but just before i did. I heard his voice whispering one more thing to me

See you next time
