Chapter 1 - Connor
“C’mon Con! We have to do this!”
“No, we really don’t.”
“But think of the advantages of such experiments!”
I look directly into Elsa’s eyes. She was doing her famous kicked-puppy look. Nobody could resist it.
“No.”
Except for me that is.
I look over at Timothy and Blake cuddling over on my couch.
“Guys, make her stop. We have to study and we don’t have all day.” I groan.
Timothy shrugs and Blake just smirks. I look disbelivingly at Timothy.
“You’re actually okay with this?” I ask.
“Could be interesting.” Timothy says while shrugging again.I scoff and roll my eyes at them.
“Fine, but later. Might I remind you we have mid-terms in a month and we have a paper in English for Friday.”
Elsa squeals and wraps her arms around me, squeezing me. Then she lets me go and rushes to pull out her phone.
“I’ll text Cat and Angel! I know they wouldn’t want to miss this!” She rambles as she opens our group chat and sends a code yellow meeting alert.
My phone pings as the message reaches me, followed by other tow rings as Cathrine - nicknamed Cat - and Angel send confirmation.
“Now, get your arse down here and start your paper before you start procrastinating for real.” I sigh as I pat the space next to be on the floor in front of the coffee table where all our papers are littered.
She giggles again and plops down.
“Tim, honey, would you mind getting us snacks? We have ever so much work to do.” Elsa says batting her eyelashes at him. Tim sighs and gets up, disentangling himself from Blake who sends a glare Elsa’s way.
“Can you get me a Coke please?” I ask. All I get is a grunt in return.
When he comes back from the kitchen with a packet of chips and my Coke, Elsa is on her stomach with her feet on my lap, writing on her laptop her draft while I’m writing my final project with my back against the couch.
Elsa looks up and makes grabby hands towards the chips. Timothy hands her the bay of chips and throws me my Coke earning a ‘hey!’ from me.
We stay like this for the next two hours before Elsa declares it break time.
“At what time do Cathrine and Angel arrive?” I ask closing my eyes.
“I told them to come at 6ish.” replies Elsa, “Movie?”
I nod and save my files before closing my laptop and putting all my papers away.
We all snuggle on the couch and Elsa pops in a random Disney movie she probably found laying around.
Half an hour later, Cathrine barges in with a loud hello and drags a tired looking Angel behind her. Angel waves and goes into the kitchen probably to get coffee.
“So… Why the code yellow? Connor never agrees to code yellow.” Cathrine says as she steals a few of the remaining chip crumbs. I stick out my tongue at her.
“It was the only was to get Elsa to study.” I sigh.
“What are we doing any way?” asks Angel from the doorway to the kitchen before tossing us another bag of chips.
“You’re going to love this, Angie-bear!” exclaims Elsa, “We’re going to summon a demon!”
Angel chokes on her coffee.
