Chapter 1
I was adopted when I was 4 months... my parents didn’t want me. They didn’t want to watch there own DNA grow up. They didn’t want to raise a mistake that they made 17 years ago. I went to court with my parents about 2 years ago to see who they were. It was a closed adoption so I wouldn’t find them. They only left that I got my mother’s brown medium length hair and my father’s dark grey eyes. I hated them. I HATED THEM FOR GIVING ME AWAY.
All my life I was going through family and family. No one ever showed me any love at all, for most of the people I was a thing to lie with. I would go to family reunions and be their little daughter but then be gone in 7 hrs. I had transferred all the way to Washington to the home I’m at now, Kansas. This was the only family that had had me for more than a few hours or days. Oakley and Stefan were their names. Oakley had been trying for years to have a baby but some drama from the past made her not be able to.
She stayed at home starting after they got me. She said it wasn’t because of me, that it was just her boss and coworkers. Her husband Stefan wasn’t the worst guy ever. He was actually pretty amazing in my book but that didn’t mean I called them mom or dad. Anyway, Stefan let me go anywhere with anyone as long as I called him whenever I could and didn’t stay overnight anywhere if he didn’t approve of it. Him and I didn’t talk and much as me and Oakley did but that was because well, we were girls. Don’t get me wrong or anything I liked them evenly, sort of.
Stefan’s work made us travel a lot in the past 7 months. I didn’t know that being a lawyer took that much traveling but I guess he was getting offers to work almost everywhere. I really liked it here so I never liked the idea of us moving because of his work. I called this place home and that was very rare because I never was somewhere so long that I called it home. I didn’t think that they would move me because they knew that I had moved around almost my whole life
“Beep, beep, beep....” And that is the most hated noise in the nation. The sound that goes ” wake up, hell awaits you!” I get out of bed and go to the bathroom to start my usual routine to get ready. Brush teeth, pick out the outfit that will keep my status at my school the same. Best Badass of Kansas, people call me. I didn’t mean to get the name but at the begging of the year, I was in biology with pervert teacher. Why we seniors call him this is because he has been caught looking at girls asses so many times.
One time I saw him look at my ass and I used it to my advantage but we talk about that later. My bus came at 6:45 every day to pick me up 2 or 3 blocks away from my house. I looked at the clock on the wall across the hall that you took to get to the bathroom. I only had about 36 to 43 minutes to be there. I finished brushing my teeth and looked I walked into my room that must have been painted by 10 year old.
With its grey and white strips that surround the room, with a closet on the left side of the room. I walked to the closet to grab my favorite t-shirt, plain white. I buried the bright color shirts in the back of the closet if I really had any. Most the time I made them take me with them when they went shopping but that wasn’t very often lately.
Lately, we hadn’t been talking a lot like we always had but I understood. When I finished getting dressed I looked in my backpack to see if I had a book and my binder. even though I am a bad kid I still do my stuff because to get a free card out of adoption I have to have good grades. I would love to stay but they would give me up in a heart beat if they could. Right? Anyone would really, that’s the one thing i’ve learned my whole life.
