Chapter 1

"Alicia! Where are you? I need you here, please. You know I hate being alone." Stephanie whines on the phone.

I let out a long sigh. "Steph, no matter how many times you call within ten minutes, the answer is going to be the same: there's construction on the highway and traffic is really slow. I'll be there in," I check the map, "thirty minutes, just calm down."

"Can't you just go around? It's crowded at the airport and I have jet lag. And I can't wait to see my favorite cousin."

"Oh shut up, you big baby. Fine! Let me find a way."

"Thank you, prima! I love you!"

"Yeah, yeah bye." I press the end call button on my steering wheel.

Now let's see how I can get out of here I think to myself. I'm in the middle lane when the cars suddenly move next to me opening up a path towards an exit. Unfortunately some idiot is blocking my way to cut through to the exit. I honk my horn and wave to alert him that I want to get in but the windows are too dark to see if he even looked my way. He doesn't move the car but the widow slides down a bit and out pokes a man's middle finger. I feel my eyebrows shoot into my hairline.

Oh-ho he did not just do that!

The space in front of him increases as he insists on not moving. I inch forward in my lane but he mirrors me.

I sit and wait until there is enough space in front of me to rush ahead of him. As if suspecting my plan, the guy teasingly burns out his tires. I do the same. Soon enough we fill the air with burnt rubber and I could barely see anything around me.

I quickly slam on the gas and race ahead into the right lane towards the exit not really caring if I crash. I lower my window a scream "Dumbass!" at the top of my lungs.

I speed down the road weaving through cars. Adrenaline shoots through my veins as I laugh loudly like a madwoman.

The entrance sign for the airport suddenly comes into view and reality splashes onto me like cold water. I slam on the brakes to slow down, turns out I was going 85 on a 60.

Oh Dios Mio, please compose yourself Alicia. What the hell was that? I mentally scold myself. You're a 26 year old grown ass woman, act like it.

I pull into the International Pick-Up area and park to look for Stephanie. When I walk through the doors towards terminal E I'm crushed into a bone breaking hug.

"I told you I missed you!" Stephanie muffles into my neck. I chuckle in response.

"Your getting my suit wrinkled." I tease.

"I thought you said 30 minutes though, you got here in 15." She says after letting me go.

I hesitate for half a second, but it goes unnoticed by Stephanie," It kind of cleared up and I just couldn't wait to pick you up. Are you hungry because I am?"

That distracted her thankfully. I don't want her knowing about my unnatural burst of disorder. She quickly gets her luggage and pulls my arm towards the exit. When we passed through the doors I lead her towards my parked car. I stop halfway there.

Strangely, there's a man leaning against my car.

"Wait here." I tell Steph as I take her luggage and walk the rest of the way to my car.

"Can I help you, sir?" I ask the man.

He looks up from his phone and slowly trails his eyes down my body. He doesn't say anything so I put my sun-glasses on and study him as well. He carries himself with an air of confidence bordering entitlement. However, to say he's handsome would be an understatement. He wore a black dress shirt that was rolled at the sleeves showing off his golden skin. Grey jeans hugged his long legs a little too well. He's tall, around 6'2 at most with a lean body. His arms are crossed in front of his chest accentuating his pecs and biceps.

Someone's car door closes and snaps me back to reality before I could focus a bit lower. I clear my throat to bring his eyes to mine.

Behind thin-rimmed circular glasses he had beautiful dark brown, almond shaped eyes lined with a thick set of long black eyelashes.

"Excuse me miss, is this your car?'' he asks in a deep velvety voice, once again breaking me from my trance.

What the hell is wrong with me today? I mentally ask.

"Yes, it is." I say cooly, irritated with myself.

"Tesla model S. Sure is beautiful." He say with a mischievous crooked smile.

"It's a model X, actually, but yes. As much as I would love to sit and chat I have somewhere to go. So, if you please-" I motion for him to move out of my way.

He just keeps smiling at me and doesn't move, so I make my way to the front trunk to load Stephanie's luggage. I look back and motion for her to come so we can go. Maybe then Sexy Man will take a hike and stop messing with my head.

After loading up Steph's luggage, she hops into the passenger side and sends me a weird pointed look through the windshield. I send a 'what?' face back at her as I make my way to the drivers side but Sexy Man is now blocking my door.

I stand in front of him but when I look into his face this time I get the feeling of seeing him somewhere before. My eyes widen as I come to realization. Oh my God! It's S-

"Hello, my name is Sichen Wong, Si to my friends. But to gorgeous," he looks me up and down,"and manic-driving women, I'm known as Dumbass."
