Chapter One

October 21

The freezing cold air of the night and soothing sound of the wind that whistled a through the trees every so often was what kept Octava calm and at ease as she hunted for her next meal.

It wasn’t easy being a vampire, especially when you’re malnourished, but when you’re a hybrid of a vampire and human, you can eat either. Still being malnourished has its major disadvantages.

The scent of a doe and her fawn flew past Octavas nose with the wind, making her turn and race to the tiny clearing where the mother grazed as her fawn jumped and played.

Octava, in her crouched position as the doe, got farther and farther from her baby as she grazed.

Octava looked between the two animals silently.

The doe was fully grown (obviously), therefore it had more blood and if she killed her the fawn would be helpless and she’d have more blood.

Though in her malnourished state she was weak and the doe would be to fast so they’d both get away and Octava would have to add another day without food to the list.

Finally, settling on her game plan Octava circled silently around the grazing animals, stopping when she gets as close as she dared to the doe’s young.

Silently licking her lips, she pounced on the young deer and sank her fangs into the artery of his neck, making him go limp in shock as his mother fled the scene. Octava greedily gulps down the blood, feeling the warm liquid slide down her throat.

Soon enough, the little fawn is dry and Octava lets his body fall to the ground. She stands and stares down at the dead fawn for a second, saddened at the death of him. He had to die because of her hunger.

Yet she still couldn’t help but think “Better the deer than a human.”

Yet this was part of who she was, an evil bloodsucker, just like the humans described.

She smirks knowing that humans were afraid of her kind, but more specifically her. Octava licks the blood off her lips and she turns her back and starts walking away to hell.

She knew that she couldn’t just walk there, but she needed time to think it through.

The lake water was freezing cold, but her body couldn’t tell the difference in the temperature between the cool air and the water. She smiles to herself while she’s cleaning her naked body, seeing the reflection of her face in the water. She knew she looked younger than she really was, it confused her. She looked to be at least 15, but in reality, she was 21 years old.

At least it makes me look more innocent. She giggles to herself.

Octava continues bathing herself with the continuous thoughts of how easy it could be to just walk around like a normal human being, but it wasn’t that simple. Her skin was ghostly pale, one of the signs that some ignorant buffoons take as someone being a vampire.

Humans, what dumb creatures. They only think you have to be extremely white to be a vampire, but in reality, you can be any race and ethnic to be one.

She couldn’t help but think about the number of lives that humans took from vampires.

She soon became aware of the prying eyes boring into her small figure, for there was a man staring at her from up in one of the tall trees near the water. Octava smelt him and she smirks to herself.

Oh, how long it’s been since I had human blood. Being a vegan vampire certainly sucks. I wonder if... I could maybe take a sip of his AB blood.

Breathing deeply she admired how good his blood smelt, but still holding herself back. Little did she know, the person watching her wasn’t human, but her senses weren’t strong enough to tell her so. In fact, her senses were so weak from malnourishment and blood loss she didn’t know what type of creature was watching her. All Octava knew was whoever it was smelt good and for heaven’s sake their blood smelt even better.

Smiling to herself and playing nice she looks over to where she feels the eyes coming from, but no one was there. Confusion is etched into her face as she couldn’t see where the human was because no one was even there. Silence. She could still feel the eyes on her, but she couldn’t see them anywhere.

The scent of the person was still there and it was absolutely intoxicating, screaming at her to chase and find whoever it was, but she stayed put in the water.

The man was still there watching her, but she didn’t know that as her senses were weak. Octava sat there in the water, soaking up the relaxation it brought her as she thought about nothing in particular.

Her pale face was still covered in blood and she went under, making the blood come off only to stain the water before slowly disappearing.

She stared down at the water, absolutely nothing was in there except for her own pale body. She looked down into the clear water and at the dirty sand mixed with rocks in between her toes before she popped up out of the water.

Getting out of the water made her shiver a bit, so she let herself dry off quickly and get dressed; Her hair that went down to her mid back was soaked, making her shirt wet. Laying on the ground staring at the moon, tear blossoms in her eyes.

Happy death day to me.

She couldn’t help but remember the day everything went to shit, when she could barely eat human food anymore and when she finally found out that she was a hybrid, vampire, and human.

The creature she could barely stand the most at that point in time was what she is and it pissed her off that day and still does.

You’ll never age again, you’ll never die, you’ll never fall in love, Octava because you’re a monster! You kill innocent beings so you can live and survive, and you enjoy it. You’re a monster, who has terrible blood lust.

The tears finally left her eyes, her body was shaking and she was hitting the ground underneath her, although she tried to calm herself down, it was useless.

It was always useless.

October 25

Octava walked softly to the bedroom where her little brother slept, and she stares at him not being able to help the smile that reaches her face; he was bigger than he was 4 years ago. His innocence was written all over his face. Not yet did he know of the creatures that he had been told were myths, were actually real. She stands there gazing at him.

Octava felt an urge to go up to him, tell him everything and be together as a family, with her brother, but she was dangerous and she had horrible urges to kill at the worse times; she was a monster, who hid, but failed every time.

The footsteps coming towards the room were barely audible by Octava, but she still heard them, disappearing in the shadows immediately. She watched as his mother walked in to check on her sleeping son, and making sure Octava wasn’t there. She did this every single night after that one horrific day. It was the routine.

Octave watched his mother closely as she tucked her son in and checked around the shadows of the room, narrowly missing the darkest shadow there. Envy fills her heart as she missed seeing her brother, the only figment of a family she had when she was fully human.

Walking softly to where her brother lay, she hugged him softly and then quickly left. It was as if she wasn’t there at all.

Standing in the town square at the middle of the night, she knew no one around would be awake as she stood there looking around it. The fear still coursing through her veins.

People surround Octava with pitchforks and torches in their hands, angry and fearful of what she’d do for them, they start stalking towards her slowly. One of them even a piece of wood in their hand.

Humans were extremely naïve. Killing a vampire was hard and such a pain in the ass. Octava started freaking out as she stared at the humans, but she was at least a little bit stronger than them, even if she was extremely weak at the time.

She wasn’t going to back down even though she was terrified. That would be pathetic on her part and she knew it. She stares at them intently, letting herself become extremely angry.

“You piece of shit-”

Octava was brought out of her thoughts when she heard the sound of footsteps walking towards her but she stays still, looking over her shoulder, but no one was there which both confused and worried her.

Octava you’re freaking out over nothing.

She thought to herself and took a second to breathe in the cool air, even if she didn’t really have to breathe, it still calmed her like it did when she was human.

...

Thanatos was sitting in his house with his brother, Erebus, at his side. It was extremely rare and awkward for them to be in the same room without arguing as they spoke of the issues at hand.

“Thanatos, don’t you understand? There’s a vampire hybrid running around and it is a danger to the humans.

The last thing we need it to lose more upon earth. Think of the number of hybrids there would be if she bites a human?” Erebus asks confidently. Thanatos simply stood there looking at him like he was a complete and utter dumbass.

“Humans can’t become hybrids just by getting bitten by a vampire if anything a vampire would have to have sex with a human and a hybrid would be born,” Thanatos says correcting his brother, for his complete and utter stupidity and Thanatos wanted to tell him to shut up with his stupidity.

Erebus looked at him completely confused to how quickly his brother responded to his ignorance.

“Where’d you learn that?” Erebus asks his brother while holding eye contact. Thanatos didn’t really want to answer his brother’s question, in fact, he wanted to keep the knowledge he had to himself and let his brother find out the hard way.

“Well, dear brother, it was nice speaking with you, but I have a life to go back to and I must also see if there are any lives that need to be brought down to hell.”

Thanatos immediately left his brother and went back to the mortal world, also known as earth.

...

Octava stood on the hill smiling to herself as she stared at the beautiful moon, that was bright and full. She soon felt the piercing gazes from around her and LEFT OFF HERE it annoyed her, turning around she saw no one again, but the scent was in the air and it smelt like a wet mutt.

These fore damned mutts are still hunting me? They obviously are asking for me to kill them.

Little did she know, there was more than one mutt surrounding her.

Panic swarms through Octava’s body the minute she sees more than 25 werewolves, what was left of her heart stopped beating and she froze in fear. They formed a circle around her, the calm before the storm. One wrong mood on her part and she’d end up fucked up and possibly dead.

For minutes on edge, no one moved at all, not even a finger, just stared at each other. The one that was closest to Octava, she attacked first and all hell broke loose, everyone was fighting and trying to kill her.

There were a few that she bit and put venom into who were dying as the fight continued.

The alpha stabbed Octava in the stomach causing her to let out a loud heartbreaking scream, that people around the world could have heard, but the only thing that the alpha did by stabbing her, as he signed his own death certificate. Octava stood up livid, her eyes were no longer blue, but now fully dark red.

She let out a dangerous growl one that no one thought she could have, Octava was no longer herself, she was dangerous, she was angry, and she was a demonic creature; Octava was full of darkness, full of hatred for the fucked-up world she was born to live in, and most importantly she was filled with anger.

She speeds towards the alpha and wraps her hands around his neck cutting off his oxygen. The alpha begins to panic, he can’t send any message through the mind link telling his pack members to kill her or get him out of her hold.

The dead look in her eyes that the alpha saw, almost made him wet himself, the pure and utter hatred was showing and her crazy was showing, but she didn’t care.

One of the man’s pack members went to bite Octava, but that only ended with him being thrown across the field, the wolves didn’t understand what she just did or how she threw that wolf across the field. Her grip around the alpha’s neck tightens.

Spots cloud the alpha’s eyes and his pack members begin to feel him fade away, she threw him done to the ground letting the alpha get air, she stares at him and focuses only on him; A wolf goes for her seeing that she distracted and bites into her leaving venom, she hisses and turns to kill the wolf, but 8 werewolves jump on her. She tries to get them off of her.

One of the wolves takes it upon themselves and they inject her with a lethal drug, she was going be their test dummy and she couldn’t believe that she was stuck in their hold.

Putting up a fight the best she could, she growls loudly trying to get them off of her, struggling against their holds only weakened her more and made her lose strength and by the second her eyes were getting heavy.

“Get off, now or I’ll end you’re lives quicker than you can blink.” She threatens, but they laugh and she stares at them confused and her eyes begin to fight sleep.

“Don’t you get it, you’re our toy now.”

Everything went black.
